Lydia POV
After a long weekend in Napa Valley for Klay and Laura's wedding, I was back in New York! The New Year was slowly approaching and I had no plans, per usual.
"You need to move back to Cali," Ayesha says over the phone as I roll my suitcase into my apartment. Even though Jordan and I are back together, we still want to maintain the visitation schedule that we made for Aria and revise it in the New Year. Aria was spending the first few weeks in San Francisco with her dad and would be coming back in the middle of January.
"I know, I know," I say dropping my bag on my living room couch. "Do you though?" She asks and I shake my head.
"Do you need me to go apartment or house shopping for you?" Ayesha asks and I crack a smile. "Look, I still have a few loose ends in New York that need to be tied before I even think about coming back to California," I say and she sighs.
"We miss you!" Ayesha says and I smile. "I miss all of you too and my man," I say and she chuckles.
"I don't think I told you but you both looked amazing at the wedding!" She compliments and I smile.
"Thanks boo," I say sitting down on my couch and resting my head. "Steph was saying how he hasn't seen Jordan smile like that in so long," She says and I smile. "That's good," I say.
"You make him really happy," She trails off and I smile thinking about our weekend together. "And you should really move back to be with him and Aria," Ayesha adds.
"I know," I say.
"Then what is holding you back?" She asks. I've become comfortable with living in New York. I like living closer to my mom especially since my dad passed away and also being close to my sister. Both my older brother are living their lives in Atlanta with their significant others leaving me and Layla.
"And don't tell me Layla because she told me that her job opening up a new office in The Bay and is transferring to that office to be closer to Anthony," Ayesha says and I sigh. "And I know Liv is tired of flying back and forth to New York."
"I know Esha," I say laying my body down on the couch. "Then what is it, mama?"
"I don't have time for the stress of dealing with Jordan's mom," I say and she sighs. "These last few years have been such a relief and not having to deal with that woman," I add.
"I don't have time for baby mommas to be popping out of the woodwork. I don't have time for girls who look just like me and I don't have time for crazy stalkers." I say. "I'm over that shit."
"I feel like you, Jordan, and his parents need to have a sit-down talk. Like seriously." Ayesha says and I nod. "You and Jordan have a daughter together whether she likes it or not."
"She doesn't have to like you but the least she can do is give you respect and know that you are the woman who Jordan wants to spend the rest of his life with and the mother of his kids," Ayesha explains.
"And maybe after all these years, her point of view may have changed about you," Ayesha says and I kiss my teeth. "I doubt that," I say and she chuckles.
"Pause, why doesn't she like you again?" She asks and I laugh. "The mystery still remains," I say and Ayesha laughs. I hear my doorbell ring and I sit up.
"Look just thinks bout it. I'll start looking for apartments for you," Ayesha trails off and I smile getting up from the couch and walking over to my door.
"I will. Bye Ayesha. Love you." I say unlocking my door. "Love you too Mama." I open the front door and my eyes widen.
"Monet?"
