Sebastian Sallow is dead to me.
I did absolutely everything for him, and what did he do for me? He crucio'ed me, used me for my power, and then completely cut me out of his life when I realized that I had enough of his selfish antics. He never even tried to reach out after Professor Fig died.
It was clear that he was never really my friend, he was never even an acquaintance. He was nothing to me. And I would make him regret losing me until my last breath.

I decided to get an early start for my first day back at Hogwarts, waking up an hour and a half before my first class. I put on jeans and a blouse, tying a corset and lacing my boots up. I didn't touch my hair today, as I just didn't really feel like it, so I threw my waves behind my back as I walked into the common room.

Ominis was in the corner reading with his wand, I was happy to see him so I walked over. "Ominis Gaunt."

"Y/N!" He stood to greet me.

"How are you?"

"Wonderful." He gave me a hug, placing one hand on my waist and kissed my right cheek. "And you?"

I returned a kiss on his left cheek. "I'm just fantastic. Come to breakfast with me."

"I'd be happy to." He grabbed his books and we made our way to the Great Hall.

We entered and I scanned the room to see if I could find any other friends when I saw him. Sebastian Sallow. Summer had been kind to him, sharpening his features, giving him muscles and increasing his height by several inches. But I knew that summer had been most kind to me as I've heard the whispers. I pretended I didn't see him and continued scanning the room before falling on Garreth Weasley who had stood up and began waving me down.

"Y/N! Ominis!" He yelled across the Hall. I could feel Sebastian's eyes on me. I grabbed Ominis's hand and pulled him over with me to greet Garreth.

I smiled as I gave him a hug. "You're up early today, I take it you have potions first?" He was always late so it really was surprising to see him now.

He hugged me back with his hands around my waist. "That easy to tell, huh?"

His hand placement was new, last year he wouldn't be this low, but I didn't mind. "Indeed. Mind if we sit?"

"Of course not!" We sat, me in the middle, and ate our breakfast as we all talked.

"Well," I cleared my throat as I stood. "This was lovely. Garreth, I'll see you in class. Ominis, I'll see you later today."

"Farewell, darling." I bent down so Ominis could give me a kiss on my cheek to say goodbye, a practice that had become normal over the summer. As I pulled away I could feel Sebastian's eyes on me again, which made me increase my speed to get out of the Great Hall.

"Wait where are you going? Class isn't for a while yet." Garreth stood and started following me. "See you later Ominis!"

"I just wanted to get to class early to settle in," I continued walking at the fast pace.

When we got into the hallway of Potions class he grabbed my arm, panting. "Why are we running to class right now, Y/N?"

"This is just how I walk." It might've been believable if I hadn't also been out of breath. "We'll talk later." I sighed, not knowing if anyone could hear us now.

"I'll hold you to that." Garreth replied as we walked into class to choose our seats. It was unsurprising to see no one else had arrived yet, and we decided to sit next to each other since we weren't sure who else would be in our class.

I was facing Garreth, talking, when I saw Sebastian walk in. The world seemed to go into slow motion as I saw him glance over at me. He didn't take his eyes off me as he took the only empty seat behind me.
