Sebastian and I walked into the Great Hall together for the first time in almost half a year and for the first time in months I almost forgot that I hated him.

Almost.

After we collected our dinners we headed to the Slytherin table to sit. He sat and gave me a funny look when I didn't.

"Oh, you thought I was going to sit with you!" I laughed as I headed off to take a seat next to Ominis, Poppy and Damon.

The three greeted me as I sat down next to Ominis. "Y/N," he leaned in and kissed my cheek. "We were just talking about you."

"Oh?" I raised my eyebrow. "Only good things, I hope."

They laughed. "Always!" Poppy said. "We just noticed who you came in with..."

"Sebastian?" Ominis asked me, disappointed.

"He followed me. Did you want me to zap him?" I rolled my eyes and started to dig into my dinner. I skipped lunch today so I was starving.

Damon and Poppy laughed, but Ominis didn't react. I understood why. Sebastian betrayed him, too.

I put my hand on his on the table and gave it a squeeze. "There's nothing to worry about, Ominis."

"I'd agree if he wasn't coming over here." Poppy said nervously.

"He wha-" I was interrupted by Sebastian sitting down next to me.

"Hello again," he smiled.

I cleared my throat and set down my fork. "What?"

"Oh I just-"

"Do you not have any friends?" Ominis spoke beside me.

Sebastian straightened himself, his smile gone. "I do."

"Then perhaps your company would be more appreciated there." Ominis's voice was cold.

"I just thought-" he started before stopping himself. "I suppose you're right." He stood to leave before apologizing, his gaze lingering on me a second before he left.

I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed at the headache I felt coming on.

"Phew. Man you have got to tell me what happened," Damon laughed once Sebastian was gone, trying to ease the tension.

"Maybe he's trying to make amends," Poppy said.

"Too late for that now." Ominis began eating again.

After eating in an awkward silence for what felt like forever Damon spoke up. "Oh, by the way, Y/N, did you start the paper for History of Magic yet?"

I sighed. "I completely forgot about it, actually."

"That's so unlike you!" Poppy said, rightfully surprised. "Even with everything going on last year you still never forgot school work."

I scratched the back of my neck. "Yes, well. I'm just not used to being back yet I guess." It wasn't a lie, just not the whole truth. Hating Sebastian was taking more out of me than I thought, and on top of that I was still having nightmares. I set my fork down on my plate, appetite gone at the thought.

"Well I can help if you need, might help to have someone keep you focused." Damon shrugged.

"I actually think that would help a lot. Thank you." I smiled.

The rest of dinner was uneventful, we just made plans for the weekend and talked about how excited we were for the party Friday night.

I was exhausted so I turned into bed early and let sleep take me.
