As Sebastian walked passed me to his seat I acted as if it didn't phase me and continued my conversation with Garreth. "Just promise you won't blow me up," I laughed.
"I practiced all summer, it's alright, Y/N!" He laughed with me, putting his hand on my arm.
Professor Sharp cleared his throat, and everyone fell silent. "Today we'll be going over some of the important basics of last year. Gather the ingredients to brew Wiggenweld and get started." He said as he made his way to his desk.
"Piece of cake," Garreth and I said as we stood up to make our way to the shelf for the ingredients. By the time we got there some students had already pulled down the jars and started a line to grab them. "I'll grab your ingredients if you go start the cauldrons." He poked his elbow into my arm.
"Sounds like a deal to me," I stepped out of line and turned around to head back to our table when I noticed Sebastian was directly behind me, now making eye contact. I bumped my shoulder into his has I walked passed. I hated how it sent electricity through my body.
"Here's yours, thanks for getting me started," Garreth said, sitting down and laying out the Dittany Leaves and Horklump Juice.
"Thanks, Garreth." We brewed our Wiggenweld and began talking again as we waited for our next task.
He wrote a note and slid it over as we continued talking. I raised an eyebrow but as soon as I read the paper I understood why he didn't even chance whispering it.
Sebastian hasn't taken his eyes off you the whole time, I'm surprised he's even had time to brew.
I scoffed. What could his game be here?
Eugh.
Was the only thing I could think of how to respond. He took the paper back and stifled a laugh.
Want me to do something about it?I raised an eyebrow.
Like what?Next thing I knew he threw his arm around my shoulder and leaned in to whisper, "Yeah?"
I didn't like Garreth like that, but his breath on my neck felt...nice. I could feel Sebastian eyes burning a hole through the back of my head. "Yeah." I smiled to him.
"It seems most of you did indeed practice over the summer as assigned. Good for you," Professor Sharp announced. "Next I want you to all gather around my desk." All of us looked around at each other, Sharp had never had us at his desk together. He could sense the hesitation, "come now."
Garreth and I made our way to the front of the room as did the rest of our peers.
It smelled differently up here, like rain in the forest with a hint of mint, it smelled like home, I was instantly relaxed. "Great of you to join me," Sharp said sarcastically. "Now," he cleared his throat. "Lenora, tell me what you smell."She took a second before inhaling and answering. "Rain and mint."
"And you, Garreth?"
"I'm getting a very strong Strawberries and...Lavender." He answered the professor.
I was confused how he could possibly get such a different answer from Lenora and I, but decided against asking as it was clear that it would be revealed in time.
Sharp went on asking more students what they smelled, most boys said Lavender and Strawberries. While most girls said either Lemongrass or Rain and Mint.
"Sebastian?" He asked next.
"I don't know how people are smelling anything but Lavender and Strawberries." He responded. I was slightly taken aback, his voice was much deeper than the last time I heard it.
