Usually on your birthday your family would come together to celebrate, there would be cake and balloons and everyone would have a good time.

But it wasn't like that on Zukos 18th birthday.

Instead of his family gathering  to celebrate his life they came to plan his wedding.

As it was not birthday cake he would be eating today, but wedding cake.

Ever since Zuko was awakened as a omega when he turned 13 it was decided he would marry the ambassador of the southern water tribe and there would be a alliance between the two nations.

He was told it was a great honor for a omega like him to marry a alpha like the ambassador.

When Zuko awakened as a omega his father firelord Ozai burned his face and permanently scarred him in a fit of rage that the heir to the throne was a omega.

It was then decided that Azula who was a alpha  would be firelord and on Zukos 18th birthday he would marry the ambassador.

Zuko was laying awake on his bed. He didn't get a wink of sleep the previous night.

As for tomorrow he would marry the ambassador.

There was a gentle knock on his door and he turned his head to see who it was.

It was a maid she came in with a cart that was full of food.

Zuko sat up as the maid unfolded  a tray and placed it on the prince's lap.

"Good morning your highness" She smiled. "Tea?"

She asked and held up a metal tea pot.

"No thank you."

The Prince said digging into his breakfast.

"Oh and happy birthday, the other maids and I bought you a present"

She then took out a small box wrapped in red wrapping paper from the bottom of the cart and placed it on the prince's nightstand.

"You really shouldn't have, thank you so much and tell the others I said thank you."

The Prince said watching as the maid wheeled the tray out the door then she stopped and turned to the Prince.

"Think of it as a early wedding gift"

she said before leaving and closing the door.

The Prince sighed. All week the only thing he heard about was his wedding.

The ambassador was coming today to meet Zuko for the first time before they wed.

Since the great war the fire nation was in severe debt because of his father firelord Ozai.

The nation desperately needs the support of the southern water tribe.

Meaning everyone was counting on Zuko for this alliance and he could not back down from this wedding.

Zuko finished his breakfast and folded the tray back up, leaving it on the floor next to his bed.

His attention turned to the present. He picked it up and set it on his lap.

He carefully undid the wrapping paper (so that he could reuse it  if needed)

Inside was a small box Zuko opened it to see a beautiful necklace.

The necklace had a silver chain and the pendant was in the shape of a white lotus flower.

Zuko stared in awe at the necklace for a good three minutes and then he put it back on his nightstand, before deciding to get out of bed and go downstairs.

When he got downstairs he was met by Azula who was standing with a beta male  he'd never met before.

"Good morning Zuzu. This is the wedding planner. What was your name again?"

She said turning to the older man.

"U- uh my name is J-"
"Okay I don't care"

Azula cut him off.

"You look horrible" She said turning her attention to Zuko. "We've got to get you fixed up immediately, Julie!"

Azula called out the head maid Julie who came scurrying.

"Give my brother a bath and make him look alive. He needs to look nice for when the ambassador comes"

Azula said before walking away from the stairway the man following close behind.

"Yes ma'am"

Julie said even though Azula wasn't listening and had already left.

"Okay let's get you ready to meet the ambassador!"

She smiled dragging Zuko back upstairs and into the bathroom connected to his bedroom.
