A/n thank you for 50 reads!! Love you all ♡
------------------------------------------------------Zuko sat on his bed, thinking. What could he possibly do to avoid this marriage?
He had been sitting there for more than a hour, when suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"Come in"
Zuko called.
The person opened the door.
"Hey it's me"
The ambassador said before entering the room. He looked Zuko up and down.
"You look nice"
Sokka complimented.
Zuko tensed up.
"Thank you"he said gently.
The ambassador sat next to him on the bed.
"I really want to get to know you, I know you don't want any of this but I think we can make it work."Zuko sighed.
"What do you mean?"
Sokka reached up to Zuko and cupped his face."You are worthy of love and I can give you it."
Zuko looked at the ambassador in awe, he had never been told that by anyone.
"I'm not sure if I am.." Zuko whispered as if he was talking to himself.
"Of course you are, you have a kinda heart and a good soul. You deserve so much better."
Zuko was still unsure what Sokka meant but kept quite.
"If you ever want to talk to someone come to me. Because we will be seeing a lot of eachother"Sokka chuckled. The ambassador looked at the clock on the wall.
"I've got to go now"He said before leaning in to give Zuko a soft peck on the cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"Little did the ambassador know he wouldn't be seeing Zuko at the alter tomorrow. Because he was going to run away tonight.
------------------------------------------------------
Zuko made it to the back entrance of the palace where there were no guards.
He shifted into his wolf form and just started running. He didn't care in what direction as long as it was far away from here.
"Stop! Don't leave! Go back" his wolf cried out. But zuko ignored him, he felt free for the first time in years. He felt like he could finally breathe again after being held under water all his life.
Of course he was scared about what would happen to the fire nation after all this. But for once he had to put himself first.
He had to think about his own mental health and wellbeing because no one else was going to do it for him.
He found himself inside a large dark forest surrounded by high cliffs . Regretting his decision to run away immediately.
In the distance a very familiar sound caught his ears.. fireworks. Zuko stopped to listen closely, shifting back into his human form.
Fireworks? Were they celebrating the wedding? Guilt filled Zukos body, all those people were expecting him to make the fire nation great again. But he was being selfish.
Without a second thought he took off towards the sounds, his heart racing with every step, he stopped when he saw a large crowd gathered.
He recognised some of the faces, the ambassadors friends and his sister Azula.
He walked closer to the group, surprised at how many people were there.
"Azula"he called.
"Zuko? About time."
"I'm sorry"
"Are you crazy??! you were suppost to be here half a hour ago.""What's going on? What are they celebrating"
Zuko asked.
"We're celebrating you, your engagement dumbass go find your fiancé i've got no clue where he's gone."Azula left without another word leaving Zuko in the crowd. He started to push through to look for him. It was hard since everyone else was pushing and shoving aswell.
Zuko noticed a tall figure just outside of the crowd.
"Sokka?" He called out walking towards him.
Sokka turned around with tears in his eyes.
"Why did you reject me?"
