To say I was a little worried about Claire in this weather might have been an understatement. Sure, I was used to conditions far worse than this, but I'm not human either.within moments of us walking in the rain we were both drenched. Claire held my hand like before, but I didn't tense up this time. Her touch was soothing where I thought it would be unsettling. We walked along the street for a while, and Claire soon started walking a lot closer to me. I looked down to her and as she rested against my arm I could feel her shivering.
"A-Are you ok?" I asked.
"Y-yeah, just a little cold," Claire shivered. Claire sneezed, only increasing my concern. I couldn't just let her freeze in this.
"H-here," I said. I took off my jacket and wrapped it over Claire who clung to it with my arms still over.
"What about you?" She asked.
"I've t-trained in far worse than this," I assured her. We continued walking with Claire held close to me. My heart pounded hard in my chest as I tried to warm her up. I know I can do more... I built up a little bit of my energy in my body, and I felt Claire sigh from the warmth it provided.
"You're really warm," she said. I smiled a little as she held herself closer to me as we turned to cross a street.
"That's a weird looking belt," Claire spoke up. Belt? I wasn't wearing a... oh shit! In my effort to keep her warm, I forgot the entire reason I wore a jacket, to hide my tail!
"O-oh, yeah i-it is a little odd," I excused. Luckily I kept my tail wrapped around my waist like a belt so it was easy to play it off as a belt. Claire pointed over to a house and we made our way inside the gate. She quickly unlocked the door and we walked just inside the threshold to get out of the weather.
"Thank you for giving me your jacket," Claire said.
"N-no problem," I said. Claire handed me the drenched garment, but didn't step back after she had. She was a mere few inches from me as we stood at her her door.
"I'd love to do that again sometime," she said. She wants to go out again?! Before I even had time to respond, Claire stood on her toes and left a light kiss on my cheek. I was paralyzed again for a moment, but it was different than last time. Claire blushed as she turned to walk away.
"See you at school Celton," she said. I broke out of my stupor enough to exit her home, and as I walked out of her yard I was completely lost in thought. She... she kissed me... oh my Dende she kissed me!!!!
"YAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO!" I yelled out as I jumped almost a hundred feet in the air. As I landed back on the ground I took off running to the edge of town with a wide smile on my face. As soon as I reached the edge I took to the sky for Mount Paozu. Even though everything was utterly nerve wracking in regards to Claire, I couldn't wait to see her again. I landed on the base at the door of Gohan's home, and was greeted by him as soon as I walked inside.
"Where were you?" He asked.
"I went to a sandwich shop," I said. I wasn't going to be exactly tell him about Claire yet, especially with what happened today.
"Why did I feel your energy rise in town?" Gohan questioned. He felt that?! I knew Gohan was incredibly talented but that's a little too talented.
"Claire was cold in the rain when I took her home so I—"
"Celton, you're getting reckless!" Gohan interrupted. "Using your power like that is only gonna get you revealed and bring danger to Earth."
"I'm not getting reckless Gohan! I have it under control," I told him.
"And what if Claire starts asking too many questions?! You know that if Saiyans are known to be somewhere then evil will come to us," Gohan tried to say. "My dad didn't stay dead for any reason than to protect us, we have to do our part too!"
"And no one suspects anything!" I snapped at him.
"Is that what you call the incident today?" Gohan pulled. "Is that girl really worth letting your secret slip?" I clenched my fist. I couldn't believe what Gohan was telling me.
"I'm not gonna let it slip! And if anyone finds out, I'd rather it be her than someone else!" I snapped at him. My blood was boiling, I couldn't believe what Gohan was saying.
"You can't see her again. Everyone safety isn't worth one girl," Gohan said. What he said wasn't mean or an attack, and yet for some reason something snapped inside me. Before I knew what was happening I had swung a fist across Gohan's face. The half-Saiyan stumbled back, utterly shocked that I had done that. Why did I do that?! I glanced in the glass of a photo on the shelf behind him, and I could see my reflection. I looked as though I was ready to fight, as though Cell was standing in front of me again. I looked like what Vegeta would've called "a true Saiyan". I backed up as fear took over, and I saw Gohan's shocked face. Before anything else could be said I took to the sky out of the door. What did I just do?! I flew for quite a while, just trying to think of what to do now. Maybe Bulma and Vegeta could give me a place to stay? No, Vegeta would tell me to suck it up and Bulma would just send me back to Chi Chi. I ended up flying over the city, but it was getting hard for me to focus. It was late at night and the rain was still falling. My eyes started shutting against my will, and I passed out as I started to careen towards the ground. The last thing I remember hearing was the sound of wood crashing around me.
