Going down this alley felt wrong. There was something that didn't feel right about this, as though we were being followed. As I walked along, I felt some kind of pain in my lower back. It was sharp and deep, like I had been... stabbed?
"Celton?!" Claire exclaimed. I started stumbling forward as someone had grabbed Claire from my side. I went to one knee as I forced my Ki to start healing me.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Cunton," said a familiar voice.
"What are you doing Sharpener?! Hey let me go!" Claire yelled, I looked up and saw two of Sharpener's lackeys grabbing Claire. My blood began boiling, I had to get to Claire. I started sanding back up, but then Sharpener kicked me in the head.
"Thought you could make me look like a clown and get away with it huh?" Sharpener boasted. I looked up as the third guy started dragging Claire away.
"Get away from her!" I yelled out. I could feel my power growing rapidly as my anger built. Keep it together Celton, just get on your feet and you've got this.
"Not so tough now aren't you?" Sharpener laughed with another kick to my ribs. I looked forward again as one of the goons raised his blade, but this time I was ready. I focused my energy, and as the blade came down, it shattered on contact with me.
"The hell?!" Exclaimed the goon. I spun up and kicked the lackey away from me and landed back on my feet, and backhanded Sharpener away. I didn't go full power so I wouldn't reveal myself, but I stood in my fighting stance, with eyes locked on Claire.
"Let her go now, and you walk away," I declared.
"Let's get this shitstain!" Sharpener ordered. One of the lackeys tossed Claire to the ground, and I started moving towards them with my body burning in anger. The three of them all charged me, like fools. I flipped Sharpener over my shoulder onto his face, and back handed one lackey to the side. The second one landed a useless punch, before I swung him into a wall. I reared back another fist, but just as I did Sharpener came up behind me and grabbed me.
"Gotcha now!" He said. Before I could focus my energy, his knife plunged into my chest. I roared in pain as he tried to twist the knife between my ribs.
"Celton!" Claire exclaimed running towards me, but as she did one of the goons grabbed her again and started to drag her backwards. I could feel the pressure on my ribs as Sharpener continued to twist. I watched on as the other two started to take Claire with them, but of course she landed a decent punch on one of them. My rage hit a boiling point as one of the goons slapped her and tossed her back to the ground. My head felt like it was splitting as my anger and power became too much for me to contain any longer.
"Fine... you want to play rough... THEN I'LL QUIT HOLDING BACK!!!" I howled as I let the full extent of my power show. A pillar of white light surrounded me before I grabbed Sharpeners shoulders and threw him towards the end of the alley with ease. The fool watched in terror as I took his knife out of my chest and threw it to the left, embedding it in the wall with ease. His lackeys dropped their knives and took off running at the sight of my power, but Sharpener thought it would be a grand idea to take another swing at me.
"Pathetic," I said, before dodging his fist with complete disregard for his feeble attempt. I drove my fist forward to his abdomen, and sent him reeling back towards Claire. Even as he quickly recovered a discarded blade I started simply walking towards him. Claire jumped up to run past him, but Sharpener grabbed her and held her with the knife to her throat. I could see the panic in her eyes, the pure fear, but I wouldn't let anything happen to her like this.
"One more step and she's dead!" Sharpener declared. I calmly held out my left hand, drawing my right fist from that extended point to the rear as though I was holding a bow. A thin Ki blast burned to life along the path with a trajectory on course for Sharpener's head.
"Let her go, or you'll be nothing but dust!" I promised Sharpener. The blonde idiot was trembling as I gave him no chance to do anything. I was stronger, faster, deadlier. As I waited for the right opening, Claire swung her elbow back into Sharpener's gut. With a groan, his knife clattered to the ground, and I took my chance, I threw my fist forward to drive the blast into the ground at his feet, before quickly grabbing Claire. I sped past Sharpener with Claire in my arms as the blast detonated, sending him flying out of the alley. The blast illuminated the entire alley like a sunrise, and Claire clung to me as I held her safely from the blast and anyone who would've even dared to look our way. My aura still burned around me as I held Claire just as I had when I had saved her from the speeding truck several months ago. Her eyes held the same wonder and shock, but now there was her gratefulness and relief behind that. I stood Claire back up before she rushed me for a hug, as though she was afraid I'd run away again.
"Oh my god Celton!" She shakily mumbled into my shoulder. I held her close as the realization that she was ok hit me. But of course, my adrenaline fell soon after, and my breathing grew labored as my injuries caught up with me. I started swaying back and forth, before I stumbled back to the wall holding my open chest wound. Claire never let me hit the ground as she came and held me up.
"We need to get you to a hospital now," she said. I saw he pull her phone out, and fear instantly hit me.
"No!" I exclaimed. Claire stopped dialing for a moment, and I held a hand out to the hand holding her phone. "I can't go to a hospital, at all."
"Celton, you got stabbed twice! We need to get a doctor to fix you up!" She tried to reason.
"Claire, you've got to trust me when I say I absolutely can not go to a hospital," I groaned. "I need to get back to Gohan's."
     "Celton—"
"Please Claire, please," I pleaded with her. Claire stopped as she realized just how serious I was about this. She hesitantly put her phone away, and I closed my eyes in relief.
"Can you still fly like this?" She asked.
"My energy will keep the bleeding to a minimum... I'll get us there as fast as I can," I assured her. Claire nodded with worry covering her, before she helped me stand up. She gently but quickly got on my back as I tore into the sky. The flight to Mount Paozu was fast, and Claire tried her best to apply pressure to my chest as we flew. Well, I guess there's no better time for honesty than the present.
