It's been a few months now since Gohan and I patched things up. In that time, Claire and I made things official, and now we could be seen walking the halls together. Sometimes we ended up in trouble together, but I did make things easier to get away with. I think even Gohan came around to my side of the fence since I've seen him talking with Claire's friend Videl. I've heard that she sort of approached him like Claire did me, but I haven't really seen them together much since I was almost always with Claire. At the moment I was sparring with Gohan while Claire and Videl spent time together in the city. I swung my foot towards Gohan's head, but ended up jumping back before Gohan could strike with a punch.
"So when exactly are you planning on telling Claire you're a Saiyan?" Gohan asked.
"Really? We're talking about this now?" I smirked. Gohan advanced on me with a rapid barrage of punches but I was able to dodge or block every strike. An opening came and I managed to kick Gohan back to reset our positions.
"She's gonna find out at some point," Gohan said. I took my chance to advance this time, with an explosive flurry of punches. Gohan blocked several of the attacks, but I was able to break his defense eventually. Gohan stumbled back, and with a final punch I sent him flat on his back. Gohan looked up from the ground and smirked, and I shot him the same smirk back.
"So when are you going to tell her?" Gohan persisted. I dropped my fists as I knew there was no getting out of the question.
"Maybe after the homecoming dance? To be honest, I'm not sure," I explained.
"Have you even asked Claire to that dance? It's only a week away," Gohan asked. I gave my head a scratch as I helped Gohan up.
"I don't know if she'd even want to go to a dance. A girl like her at an event like that?" I explained. Gohan put a hand on my shoulder as we started walking over to the house.
"Well, you'll never know if you never ask," Gohan said. Well, the worst she could say is no at this point. "Come on, we need to go pick up the girls." We got in Gohan's car and went into the city, meeting up with Claire and Videl at the Seven Star Cafe. I got out of the car as Videl got in, and Claire practically wrapped herself around me.
"You sure you guys don't want a ride?" Gohan offered.
"No thanks, I've got something I need to talk to Celton about anyway," Claire said. I looked down to Claire as I was caught off guard by this. Gohan and Videl pulled away from the curb, as Claire and I made our way to the outskirts of town. Our usual method of going on dates wasn't things like movies or picnics, but flights through the sky before dusk around Mount Paozu. Claire was on my back as we flew and had her head rested on my shoulders as I took us on our leisure flight. My conversation with Gohan came up in my head, and I decided that it was time to know.
"Celton, I've got something to ask you," Claire spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Actually, so do I," I said to her. As I looked back at Claire, I could see I wasn't the only one a little nervous. Claire was surprisingly hesitating in what she needed to ask me. Come on Celton, there's nothing to worry about! Just ask her!
"Will you go to homecoming with me?" We both asked.Earlier...
The sun shined down on the outdoor table that Videl and I were seated at. We were having ourselves a little girl time while Celton and Gohan did their martial arts things.
"So you finally managed to get Gohan to talk to you?" I asked her.
"Yeah, it took a while. But he eventually came around to hanging out with me," Videl said. "He's even been helping me train for the Strongest Under The Heavens tournament coming up soon."
"How did you convince him of that?" I asked her.
"I may have found out a little secret about a certain Great Saiyaman to get him to teach me how to fly," Videl smiled. Wait, what did she say?
"Wait a second, Gohan can fly too?!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah! Wait can Celton fly?!" She questioned.
"Yeah, he takes me on flights all the time in his arms," I blushed, just waiting to experience that feeling again tonight. Videl smiled through her teacup at my actions.
"Celton sure has become a lot less anxious around you," said Videl.
"Yeah, that's something I've been helping him with since I met him," I smiled.
"Sounds like you'll have quite the date for homecoming then," Videl smirked. She caught me a little off guard with the mention of the upcoming school dance.
"Oh, I don't know if Celton would want to take me to something like that," I said. "He's still pretty introverted. Crowds really aren't his thing."
"But what if he's been dying to ask you to it! Even I know that Celton would go outside his comfort zone to see you smile," Videl pointed out. I certainly loved the idea of being in my own little world of music and Celton spinning me around a dance floor. Maybe I should ask him to the dance, he may just be too nervous to ask. A car horn took our attention as Gohan and Celton pulled up to the curb. We finished our drinks and I ran up to Celton for a hug as Videl got in Gohan's car.
"You sure you guys don't want a ride?" Gohan offered.
"No thanks. I've got something I need to talk to Celton about anyway," I said. Celton was a little caught off guard, but that didn't stop us from getting outside of town for our relaxing little getaway to the sky. I held onto Celton's shoulders lying on his back as we smoothly crossed the open sky above the mountains as the afternoon sun shined and the wind whipped through my hair. Videl may have had a point, Celton has come a long way in getting over his anxiety, but maybe he needed a little push for asking me out to a dance.
"Celton, I've got something to ask you," I broke the silence.
"Actually, so do I," Celton responded. I opened my mouth to say what I had to say, but for some reason I was the one hesitating now. Just ask him already!
"Will you go to homecoming with me?" We asked simultaneously.I guess we both have our answer now.
