...How Can You Do That?

I helped Celton into my house and set him down on the couch. I couldn't let him out on his own with that fractured leg, even if he could fly. I don't know what it was about seeing him hurt, but I had a feeling that I needed to take care of him. I guess motherly instincts really do exist.
"Thank you, Claire," Celton said as I sat down with him.
"Of course, I'd rather make sure you don't hurt yourself worse," I told him.
"I would've been fine," Celton said. Yeah, I believe that. As I sat with Celton, I could see out the window and could barely make out that the rain was falling.
"Seems we can't catch a break with weather," I said. I turned on the television to give us some entertainment. There was a movie playing on this channel, a rom-com that I'd seen before.
"Have you watched this before?" I asked Celton.
"I don't really watch movies," he said.
"You'll love this, trust me," I told him. The movie went on for a while as the night went on, and one movie turned into two, two into three. I had just been sitting with Celton at first, but by the time we had gotten to movie three, I was thoroughly snuggled up to him. The rain got heavier as well, and I had ended up covering us both with a blanket. Celton even held me in his arms as well as we watched the movies.
"You're really comfy," I mumbled to Celton as we watched the third rom-com film. "Oh watch! This is where he finally realizes that she's worth more than his music career!"
"You know, for a rebellious girl, you sure like these movies a lot," Celton said.
"Hey, watching idiots fall in love is just as fun to me as causing trouble," I said. The lights soon zapped off and the tv went silent as well.
"What happened?" Asked Celton.
"The storm must've caused a power outage," I said. "I'll go get some candles for us." I walked into the kitchen where I kept a few candles and tried to find a lighter. The dark room made looking through the drawer difficult. As I looked, a light began to appear out of the living room where Celton was. I looked back into the room again, and was mesmerized. Celton sat with his eyes closed and hands out, and within the boundaries of his hands was a glowing orb no bigger than a coin. Celton opened his eyes and looked over at me, and I was shocked at what he was doing.
"Light them with this," he said. I came over to him and stuck the end of a candle under the orb. The wick ignited three inches from the orb. I lit the rest in fascination one after another with this orb of energy. Celton let the orb fizzle out and the only light we had left was the candlelight on the coffee table.
"Was that another Ki control thing?" I asked as I snuggled back up to Celton.
"Yes," he said, wrapping his arms over me.
"What else can you do?" I asked, laying on his chest.
"Ki control unlocks the possibility of so many things, but most commonly it's used for flight, or creating energy attacks capable of great destruction," he explained. "I know a few people who can use it in so many different ways. Someone I know can make clothes out of nothing." Ki control really can do anything it seems, and by the looks of it, Celton wasn't hesitant about much of anything anymore.
"It's been quite a while since you've stuttered," I said.
"W-w-w-what do you mean?" Celton asked sarcastically. I laughed a little as he smirked himself.
"You ass!" I playfully said. "I'm glad you're warming up to me." Celton looked away for a moment as though there was still something he was struggling with.
"There's a lot you still don't know though," he said. I laid my head back down and shut my eyes as I was growing drowsier by the second.
"That's alright, just more for me to learn later on," I mumbled. Celton pulled me closer to him, and I happily snuggled up to him.
"Thank you for this Claire," he whispered.
"Thank you for staying," I said back. Not another word was said that night as I drifted slowly sleep.
