Being alone isn't always just a physical thing

Being alone isn't always just a physical thing. Sometimes you are alone in a room full of people that don't feel or think the same way as you. Sometimes, you don't even feel alone in a completely empty room; it can go both ways. Sometimes, you aren't even aware of the fact that you are alone until someone joins you and you aren't alone anymore.

Whatever most people tend to feel, Y/n felt most utterly alone until she had had that conversation with Kai a few days earlier.

Kai had since been on a secret mission, but Y/n still felt a warm feeling inside whenever she thought of the hug they shared. She wondered if he still thought about it as frequently as she did, or if he just saw it as nothing.

She hoped that he felt the same way towards her.

"Stop-"

Y/n finally came to her senses when she heard Beomgyu's worried-sounding voice ring out from just behind her and felt herself being spun around by the shoulders. She started to take in her surroundings and realised that her face was just inches from the boy's.

His jaw was slightly ajar, his eyes wide and anxious, seemingly scanning Y/n's features. She was caught off guard by the sudden closeness between the two of them. She tightened her lips and gulped. His eyes darted to her lips for a second before he let go of her completely, taking two steps backwards.

"W-watch where you're going!"

What's with him today?

"Y-you're the one who just grabbed me just now!"

"You were about to walk into the bear traps!"

"Bear tr-"

He was right.

Just behind Y/n on the floor there were three pairs of the distunguishable open jaws of bear traps, set and ready to clamp shut on anything - or anyone - unlucky enough to set foot inside it.

"What the hell are bear traps doing right in front of the knife-wall?"

Beomgyu tried to shrug it off by rolling his eyes nonchalantly to make Y/n feel like she was being unreasonable, but she noticed how his lips moved slightly, as if he was going to say something but then decided against it.

He went to the far side of the room, where another table was situated and picked something up from it. Beomgyu then approached Y/n, giving her the chance to see what he was bringing.

A bright red pair of boxing gloves.

Oh, no way in hell am I fighting this guy!

Before he had even reached her, Y/n had already begun to calculate her chances of winning in a fight against him.

More experienced? Him
Stronger? Him
Taller? Him
Faster? Him

In conclusion = I'm dead
