"Are you sure about this?"
Soobin asked Heeseung unsurely, the buzz of busy people almost making his words unheard.
Heeseung smiled and shook his head slowly, placing his hand on the taller one's shoulder, keeping the other one tight on the handle of his travel suitcase beside him. He tried to show a comforting smile, but the mask on his face prevented him from showing anything more than a slight crinkle in his eyes.
"Thank you for your help, but you don't need to worry about us anymore."
He motioned his head slightly to the group of people behind him, who were still busy checking in their baggage at security. A few of them cocked their heads up curiously, sensing the need to greet him soon.
Soobin nodded humbly, but the worry was still evident on his face, him not being granted the privelege of the privacy of a facemask himself. Heeseung tilted his head, trying to get a better look at the older's downturned expression.
He sighed, unheard in the loud bustle of publicity, guilt proving itself existent in his chest and pulling his organs closer together. He tried to look genuinely into Soobin's eyes.
"She's going to be fine. I'm sure of it."
Soobin nodded absentmindedly, Heeseung's words only clashing with what his own conscience had been trying to tell him the past few weeks.
He hadn't had the chance to check on Y/n in the infirmary, helping Enhypen prepare for their escape and ensuring Jeongyoo was brought to justice. His only justification being that he couldn't do anything to help her wake up and that all he could do was wait, he had somehow managed to make himself feel guilty for not being there.
Despite knowing all along that Y/n was his little sister, he never got the chance to even begin to feel like a big brother. Instead, he felt like a failed bodyguard who allowed her to get hurt and didn't even visit her in her comatose state.
"Soobin!"
Heeseung had to yell to properly get his attention, the loud sounds of people all around them not helping in the least. Soobin looked properly at Heeseung, only now ready to actually listen to the younger one's words.
"I got a call from Kai, one of your members back home."
Soobin's eyes tensed up, part of him already knowing what Heeseung had in mind.
"Apparently you weren't picking up... I wanted you to find out when you got home, but..."
Heeseung's words trailed off, not specified if he started mumbling or if the busy airport just got a little louder. A big ball of hope grew in Soobin's chest, seeming to lift up his sorrowful composure like helium.
It wasn't long before he started mumbling out what could only be deciphered as some sort of greeting, based on the bowing and pitch of voice he had. The six other members of Enhypen slowly gathered around the man, saying greetings of their own.
