The girl at the pet store (Mario x Peach)(Minor Luigi x Daisy)

(Au where Mario and Luigi are pet store employees and Peach and Daisy are just normal civilians)

Mario's POV

There she was again. The same girl that came to the pet store every other week. She had beautiful golden hair that flapped in the wind. With blue earrings that looked like snow globes. She had on a white puffy blouse with a long pink skirt and white heels. She also had a white sunhat that complimented her outfit beautifully. She looked amazing as always. He had always admired her amazing fashion sense. And her eyes, how could he forget about her eyes, he could get lost in them for hours.

"EXCUSE ME!" A young man said waving his hands in front of Mario's face.

Mario snapped out of his thoughts. "OH"! He quickly regained his composure. "S-So sorry sir, is there something I could help you with" he said.

"It's alright" the man sighed. "I just want to purchase some of this fish food".

Mario quickly scanned the product and sent the man on his way. "Thank you and please come again" he said before breathing a sigh of relief. Good thing that man was one of the more nicer civilians in New Donk.

"Hey" Mario jumped and looked behing him to find his younger brother, Luigi, holding a heavy box of dog toys and placing them down on a small nearby table. "Mario you can't be zoning out all the time, your going to get us fired if you tick off the wrong person".

"I know, Luigi". Mario said. Rubbing the back of my head. "It's just that...well...it's just...".

Luigi looked behind Mario "You got distracted by her again" Luigi nodded to the blond haired girl Mario was staring at a few seconds ago.

It was true, even though he had only talked to her a few times he instantly admired her. She would always come to the pet store at the end of every friday but never buy anything she would just go straight to the puppy section and look at the puppies that were on display until the store closed. From the few small talks they had he knew she came because of her job and the stress it gave her. He always admired how hardworking she was.

Soon he began observing her. At first it was only small glances at her direction here and there but soon enough he was mesmerized by her charm and beauty. She would always interact with the puppies in their cages, which melted Mario's heart. It was sadly one of the only good interactions these poor puppies had in their lifetimes so far.

She was usually by herself but today it seemed like she had brought a friend. A slightly shorter and darker red head girl.

Mario only noticed that he was probably staring at her too much again when the red haired girl noticed him and got the blond haired girls attention. The blonde in pink proceeded to look at Mario who immediately got flustered and looked away.

"Heh you totally got a crush on her" Luigi teased.

"I-no I don't" Mario said, clearly still flustered

"Don't lie to yourself, Mario, I've known you for LITERALLY my whole life and you never get all nervous and flustered like me when talking to regular people. It's only when you have a crush on someone that you get like this"

Mario stayed silent for a moment. "Do you think I'm super obvious?"

"Uhh" Luigi looked to the side "I-I mean maybe a little B-BUT I don't think your THAT bad"

Mario sighed "So what should I do now?"

"I don't know? Talk to her?"

"You make that sound easier then it actually is"
