(For once idk how to summarize a story your just going to have to read and figure it out lol. Also in this AU Luigi does not meet Rosalina in SMG)
...
Every person has that one thing that made them feel happy and safe as a child. Was it a favorite blanket? Maybe a favorite toy? Maybe something you gnawed or sucked on? Perhaps it wasn't something physical like a favorite song or a favorite smell. Perhaps the thing that gave you warmth and comfort wasn't even real, like a cartoon character. Maybe the thing that helped you during the tough parts of early childhood was all in your head, like an imaginary friend.
I had something like that. A girl who would come out to play only in my dreams. It has been so long since I've seen her so I can't tell you what her name was or what she specifically looked like, even if I tried. All I remember is a girl with blond hair and a light blue dress, but in terms of the memories I had with that young fictional friend, well I could go on all day.
Even though I was very timid and shy and probably wanted nothing more then to relax on the soft green grass and look up at the stars peacefully we actually went on tons of adventures. Sometimes we would climb mountains, sometimes we would sail dangerous seas, sometimes we would ride the wildest of beasts, sometimes we would go wherever our hearts desired because the only limit was our imagination.
And sometimes, well, we really did just relax on the soft green grass and look up at the stars, and sometimes while we did that, we would just talk. And the the best part was that she got me. She was definitely a lot more reserved and relaxed then the other kids in real life and she was an amazing listener too. Sometimes I would even listen to her struggles because even though I knew she wasn't real, I still wanted her to tell me all the problems she faced and I still wanted to wipe away any ounce of sadness that she may have had. We said we would be best friends forever.
But as time goes on, people grow older, and soon I saw her once a week. Then once a month. Then once a year. Then I would look back at the times we spent together once or twice.
And then I could barely remember that she even existed in the first place.

Luigi and Daisy sighed in exhaustion as they collapsed on the throne room floor. Inside there were streamers, noise makers, balloons, and other party decorations. Right above them Cappy and Tiara were hanging up a colorful banner that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEACH!". The two hats soon joined the duo on the floor, also quite tired.
"Thanks for helping me set this all up guys. I'll be honest, I don't think I would have been able to decorate the whole castle by myself" Daisy said, not bothering to open her eyes.
"It's no problem, Daisy. You know you can always call on us if you need any help" Luigi picked himself off of the floor and tried to stretch his tiredness away.
Tiara nodded her head as she lied on Cappy "Plus, it was really fun to bake the birthday cake, right big brother" Cappy hummed in agreement.
"I wonder when Mario and that other girl are bringing Peach back" Daisy said, as she checked the clock.
"Other girl?" Luigi said in confusion.
"Oh yea, I guess you haven't heard. Mario is bringing a friend of Peach and him to the party" Daisy clapped excitedly "New friends! Yay!"
As if on cue, Toadsworth and Toadette started to run urgently to the group.
"Mario and Peach are here!" Toadsworth warned.
"HIDE!" Toadette screamed as she turned off the light.
Luigi and his friends stood up urgently and started looking frantically in the room for a hiding spot. That's when Luigi thought of the perfect place. The throne! Luigi tried not to trip on his way up the stares and hid himself in the back of the royal throne but soon found that he was being squished by something, or multiple somethings.
