Jake and I had been friends for a long time - ever since I first came to the 99 three years ago. We were an amazing team and worked together seamlessly, with a dynamic that was the envy of all our colleagues.

We had a great rapport, and it was always easy to chat and joke around with him. However, something changed suddenly and without warning.

Jake and I had been assigned a very large arson case to work on together. It was a complex case, involving multiple suspects and a web of connections that we had to unravel. Despite the challenging nature of the case, I was eager to work with Jake, as I knew he was a talented investigator with a keen eye for detail.

However, I couldn't help but notice that Jake had been ignoring me lately. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but as the days went by, it became clear that something was wrong. I tried to ask him about it, but he brushed me off, telling me I was being ridiculous. It was frustrating and hurtful, and I couldn't help but feel like an outsider in my own team.

Despite the tension between us, we were able to solve the case within just three days. It was a satisfying feeling to know that we had successfully brought the arsonist to justice. But the victory was bittersweet, as I couldn't shake the feeling that Jake was still keeping his distance from me.

As it turned out, the arsonist was connected to a drug ring that we hadn't even been aware of. He gave us a wealth of information that helped us unravel the entire operation. It was a major breakthrough for our team, and we were all thrilled with the results.

To celebrate our success, we all went to Shaw's bar. It was a lively atmosphere, with everyone in high spirits. Even Jake came along, although he remained distant from me throughout the night. It was frustrating and confusing, and I couldn't help but wonder what I had done to upset him so much.

As the days went by, I grew increasingly concerned about his behavior and its impact on our partnership. I tried to reach out to him and talk about what was going on, but he remained distant and unresponsive. Despite my attempts to mend things, our once-great dynamic is now a shadow of its former self, and I am left wondering what could have caused such a sudden and drastic shift in our relationship.

I had been trying to find out what was going on with Jake, but none of my co-workers seemed to know anything about it. Even Gina, Jake's best friend from childhood, had no information.

The fact that he wasn't talking to me had started to affect my ability to focus on my job. His jokes and goofy natures were what got me through the day. Without his distractions it was just a normal brining day at work. I was making mistakes in my paperwork, and it was clear that something was wrong.

One day, Captain Holt called me into his office to discuss the issue. He was concerned about the sloppiness in my work, and asked me if I knew what could be causing it.

As I stood there, looking out the window at Jake, I felt a sense of frustration and sadness. He was laughing with Amy Santiago my best friend, other than Jake of course but he's been ignoring me so I've been trying to discuss theories with Amy but we both come up empty handed. Jake has never done anything like this before. They are both completely oblivious to my presence. I couldn't think of anything to say to the Captain, so I replied in a bitter tone that I had no idea why I was struggling, leaving my messy files on his desk for him to correct and send down to the mail room.

It was clear that I needed to find a way to get through to Jake and figure out what was going on with him.

Maybe I could try talking to him again, or reaching out to his family. Whatever it took, I was determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and help Jake in any way I could. Feeling that it was probably my fault he was feeling so distraught
