REMI

Two days later...

If there's one thing I don't miss about school is the alarm clock that rings to wake me up every morning at six a.m every single day.

It's the first day of school and I couldn't be less excited then I already am.

What the point of being excited for the first day of school? It's the same faces, same teachers and same nasty cafeteria food.

I lay on my bed for another ten minutes and finally snatch my covers off my body. I get up and make my way to the next room to wake Reyna up since she would be the one to wake up late for school every morning and let her alarm clock ring for hours on purpose.

I open the door and she's not in her bed. The bed is made perfectly like no one has ever slept in it. I was hoping she would have came home last night but I guess she didn't. She's been gone for two days now.

I try to not worry and look in her bathroom to see if she had gotten up earlier than I did. She's not in her bathroom. I proceed to search the whole house before waking up Robyn.

I knock on her door loud enough for her to hear. I know she's probably in deep sleep and with King always sleeping over, it seems like she gets more sleep than usual.

As I go to knock on her again, King swings the door open. He's only in his boxers and socks. Wow, okay. He's getting really comfortable, actually.

I try not to stare at his muscular built body or the huge tattoo he has going across his chest and arms.

"Reyna never came home..." I say to him.

"She's still not here?" He frowns.

"I checked the house and she's no where to be found, King. It's been two days.." He sighs and says he'll be right back. He comes back with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt on along with a sleepy Robyn trailing behind him.

King is making a phone call while Robyn goes down to the kitchen and starts brewing herself a cup of coffee. It's became a bad habit for her. She can't properly wake up without her morning cup of coffee.

She makes her coffee in silence and I just watch her as she goes. Her forehead creases in a frown. She looks like she's thinking about something serious.

"Oh, Good morning Remi. You excited for school?" She says as if she's just now realizing that I am standing in the middle of he kitchen watching her.

"Good morning and no, never." I answer her.

Her lips curves into a small fake smile. "Aw, cheer up. Try having a good day, okay? And continue to keep those grades up. I know how hard it is and if you ever need help or tutoring you can always come to me or see if there's someone who could help you at your school. Keep your head in those books and don't look for distractions. Okay?" She says, looking into my eyes deeply.

"And make sure you're here after school. Call me when you get home."

I nod. I'm contemplating on asking her about Reyna. I do.

"So where's Reyna? Did you guys get a hold of her last night or is she with Beverly somewhere?" I ask. Her eyes immediately flutter open and she puts down her coffee. "I forgot all about that girl." She says under her breath.

"Give me your phone." I hand her my phone and she dials a number.

"Yes, good morning..." I hear her say as she quickly leaves the kitchen. What is she hiding from me? Why couldn't I hear that conversation? She's always hiding everything from us.
