KING
I wake up to my phone ringing loudly on the nightstand. I stretch over and see that it's Robyn calling. My smile forms on my face when I pick up the phone.
"I'm in front of your house. Is it safe for me to come in or do you have some random up there again? If you do meet me up at the main house in thirty." She says all in one breath before I even get the chance to say good morning.
"Good morning to you. It's safe, Salia will open the door for you." She doesn't say anything and hangs up on me. That girl always had an attitude on her. I swear she needs some act right and I want to be the one to give it her. Every time I'm with her, images of Miya pops up in my head and I can't think straight. She reminds me of her but yet they are totally different.
I get out of bed just when Robyn pokes her head in my room. She walks in slowly. "You sure you're not hiding her in the closet?"
"You will never let that go, will you?."
"Nope," She says popping the P. "That was my mistake once and I won't make that same mistake again."
"I'm not Chaz." I say out of frustration. She cuts her eyes at me and I can tell what I said got under her skin with even the mention of his name.
"Whatever. I'll be downstairs while you put some clothes on." She starts walking away from me and head for the door when I grab her and pull her close. I bend down to peck her lips when she puts her hand in my face, stopping me.
"Have you brushed your teeth yet?" She inquires.
"Nah, not-"
"Then no kiss." She smiles and dismisses me. She plops down on my bed. Hell no, she's not gonna disrespect me like my breath stinks then makes herself comfortable on my bed in my house. I tower over her and pin her hands down on the bed. She doesn't look surprised and grins at me.
Damn, the things I could do to her. Just looking at her body makes me want to jump. I know she wants me as I bad as I want her.
"You think that was cute?" I get in her face, invading her privacy.
"It was adorable, actually."
"Oh, really?" I trail kisses down her neck and down her chest and torso. "You still don't want that kiss?"
I look up at her and her eyes are closed and a small moan escapes her mouth when I give her a knee buckling kiss. I unpin her hands and she wraps her arms around my neck. The kiss gets heated and by the way her body is responding to me right now, I know she's aroused and wants me as bad as I want her right now.
"Chaz..." She moans. Chaz? Last time I checked, I was King and not that low life that ain't about nothing. Does she need me to remind her of who I am?
She realizes what she had just done and tries to apologize. "King, I'm so sorry. I really don't know where that came from."
I slide off on top of her. "It's cool." I can't lie, shorty just hurt a nigga's feelings mistaking me for that selfish ass nigga.
I walk toward the shower and she follows me. "King, baby. I'm serious, I'm really sorry. I've just been thinking of him a lot lately.." She grabs my hand and I yank it away. I can't stand the fact that he ruined my chances with her. He's all she thinks about. I wish she would open up to me more. I'm here for her every step out of the way but it seems as if she will never be able to get over that no-good, grimy nigga.
"Robyn, I need to get cleaned up. I have business to take care of. I'll meet you around later." Maybe its best if she just leaves. She doesn't move. She crosses her arms over chest.
"I'm not leaving."
"You want to be escorted out then?" I clench my jaws. I don't have time for her to be difficult. A complicated relationship isn't what I need right now. Especially if her heart belongs to someone else. No doubt that she'll leave me like Miya left me. So what's the point of holding on to nothing?
"King, no. You don't have to do that-" She starts to say when I hear a gun shot downstairs. Robyn freezes. I put my hand over her mouth to shut her up.
"Stay here and don't move. At all." I whisper. I slip on a T-shirt and sweats that are sprawled at the foot of my bed. I grab my .45 Glock and swiftly move through the house. I hear a few voices downstairs and I follow it.
"Go check upstairs." Someone says. Robyn's upstairs. I know I can trust her to blast anyone that tries. She might be a female but shorty is as strong as they come. I'm not sure who would try robbing me. I had more enemies than anyone around here and even across the country. I'm a successful business man and handled mine. My name alone could put fear in a few ears but I'm as humble as they come. If I eat, my team eats and everyone is happy at the end of the day. So there's no telling who it could be.
I get to the bottom of the stair case and see Salia's body sprawled on the floor and blood leaking from behind her head. Damn, they got Salia. My heart aches for her. She took great care of my house and always looked out for me when those crazy dumb ho's come at my door step.
I turn and I feel the cold barrel of a gun on my temple. I look from the corner of eye and I don't recognize the dude.
"Come, on. Let's go."
