Twisted winds

The Sun sets and Rachel wakes up at the perfect time. Rachel blinks a few times to get focused and looks around the room trying to remember where they are. Her eyes focus and she gains full consciousness. Rachel gets off of the floor and goes to the front of the store. She uses her two fingers to lift in between the blinds to peak out and see what time of day it is. The sun was barely still up over the horizon. Rachel lets go of the blinds and walks back over to the rest of the group. "Get up, it's time to leave." Rachel says, lightly tapping Ava with her foot. It wasn't enough to wake anyone up, then Rachel gets an idea. She goes to one of the cars and gets in. She turns on the car and it lights up and starts purring. Rachel hits the car horn and it blares out an obnoxiously loud honk. They all get scared awake from the noise. "What, huh?" Lucy says, not knowing what's going on. Rachel gets out of the car laughing at their shocked faces. It was cruel, but they were awake. They all take a moment to fully gain consciousness until they know what is happening. "Really, Rachel?" Ava asks, annoyed. "You wouldn't wake up! What was I supposed to do?" Rachel asks, laughing. Ava rolls her eyes and gets up. She goes to the place in the store where Izzy had found the cars they would take. The rest of them follow Ava and get to the cars. Lucy and Izzy go to the blue car with the white stripe and Ava, Scar, and Rachel go to the red car with the black stripe. Lucy, Rachel, and Izzy lift open their car doors and sit down on the black leather designed seats. Ava opens the back door for Scar before she gets in. Scar jumps through the open door and lays down in the back seat. Ava goes to the passenger seat and gets in with Rachel who's already in the car. "This is a really nice car." Ava says, looking all around inside of the car. "I know, right!" Rachel says, running her hand across the leather.
She looks back to the controls and pushes the button to turn on the car. The car starts making a loud rumbling sound while slightly shaking. Rachel grabs the joystick and shoves it forward. Lucy and Izzy's car starts moving slowly across the store to the front doors. Rachel takes her foot off of the brake and starts following the other car to the entrance. They stop before they hit the glass windows. Izzy rolls down her window and so does Ava to talk to each other. "How do we leave?" Izzy asks, shouting over the loud cars. "Just drive through the glass. It'll be fine!" Ava shouts to her. "Okay!" Izzy shouts. They both roll their windows back up and look forward to the large glass windows. Rachel stomps on the gas pedal and crashes through the glass jerking them back and making them hit their heads on the seat. "Ah, Rachel!" Ava shouts in pain and anger. "Sorry!" Rachel says as Scar growls at her. Izzy and Lucy do the same. They start speeding down the road next to each other trying not to lose each other. They both laugh while having a fun time in the new car. "I wish we had these in Russia!" Rachel says, smiling and looking at Ava, going almost two hundred miles per hour. "I know right!" Ava says, looking back at Rachel also smiling. The car smelled like fresh leather, it had the new car smell. It was nice and it reminded them of when Rachel got her first car.
They drove for three hours and the fun had died down. Ava just stares at the sky with wonder and Rachel stares blankly at the road. They get to the middle of nowhere with dry grass fields and lots of dust in the air. Both cars start slowing down. Rachel squints trying to see her way through all of the blinding dust. They decide to stop the cars. "Where did all of this wind come from?" Rachel asks in confusion. The wind outside was moving the car around, leaning it and pulling it. "I don't know!" Ava answers, slightly concerned. They start driving a little farther and the car starts going faster and faster. "Rachel, stop! Why are you going so fast?" Ava asks, getting a little worried. "I'm stepping on the brake! What do you mean?" Rachel asks, panicking. "What the?" Ava shouts, panicked.
Ava looks farther into the dust to see a huge tornado coming right at them! "Tornado!" Ava shouts, panicking and pointing into the dust storm. Rachel grabs the joystick and shoves it backward but it was too late. Both cars get lifted off of the ground and into the air. "Ahhh!" Ava screams as the car gets lifted many feet off of the ground. All the glass in the car breaks into many pieces. Ava and Rachel cover their faces but get cut on their arms by the shards of glass in the air. Ava's seat belt gets cut loose by a glass shard. Then all of the car doors get swung open by wind. Ava flies out of the car and into the air. "Ava!" Rachel shouts as she struggles to get her seatbelt off. She gets it off, and jumps out of the car to Ava. Rachel grabs Ava's hand as they both fly up and down through the air. They grip each other's hands tightly so they won't lose each other in the tornado. "What do we do?" Ava shouts, panicking. "Grab onto something!" Rachel shouts back. They both look around for anything in the air to grab onto but there's nothing. "There's nothing to grab onto!" Ava shouts. "I see that!" Rachel shouts back. The wind starts to come to a stop and everything starts to fall. Both the cars and Ava and Rachel come crashing to the ground. The cars land on the street and Rachel and Ava fall onto the grass field below. Ava lays there with her vision blurring after hitting the ground that hard. She looks at her hands to make sure she's alive and sighs. Her head and back hurt from falling, but she was glad to be alive. She sits up and looks at Rachel who isn't moving. "Rachel?" Ava shouts panicking, with her ears ringing. Rachel gasps and sits up. "Oh good, I thought you died for a second." Ava says, relieved. "I can't believe that just happened." Rachel says, trying to catch her breath. Izzy and Lucy get out of their car and run to them. "Are you guys okay?" Lucy asks, also trying to catch her breath. "I think so!" Ava says, now feeling a sharp pain in her shoulder. "Actually, I don't know!" Ava says looking at her shoulder and realizing that it's dislocated. "That's not good." Ava says. "What? Oh!" Rachel says, looking at Ava's shoulder. "Oh my- I can't look!" Lucy says, staring back at the cars. Ava looks around at the cars also and sees her car. "Wait, where's, Scar?" Ava asks, remembering that Scar never left the car. Ava gets up and walks to the car feeling uneasy from falling. She gets to the car to see Scar laying there with glass all in his fur. He wasn't moving and was covered in blood. "Scar, you okay buddy?" Ava asks, looking at her bear and realizing he's not breathing. "Scar?" Ava asks, now getting scared that Scar might have died. She nudges him and he still doesn't get up. Rachel gets to the car and looks at Scar. "I don't think he made it." Rachel says, softly. Ava starts to tear up. "I'm sorry." Rachel says, feeling bad for her sister. "Scar, no!" Ava says, weakly while staring to sob. "Come on, let's go." Rachel says, putting her arm on Ava's good shoulder and trying to lead her away from the dead animal so she doesn't have to look at him and get more upset. "What happened?" Lucy asks, looking at Ava. "Scar's gone." Rachel says, sadly. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Ava." Lucy says. Ava covers her face with her hands and starts walking faster down the road away from everyone until she collapses onto her knees and puts her hands down. Rachel catches up to her. "I loved him." Ava manages to say through her tears. "I know, I know. Things will get better soon." Rachel says, trying to comfort Ava. "Things were going just fine and that had to happen!" Ava says in her head. She wipes tears from her face and sniffles. "Let's go, we don't have all night." Ava says, sounding sad and angry at the same time. Ava gets up and walks away from Rachel. "What about your shoulder?" Rachel asks. Ava grabs onto her shoulder and snaps it back into place. A tear rolls down her face from pain and sadness.
