Another day goes by, Izzy and Rachel we're still pretty unstable, but Ava was there to help. Everyone was inside sitting on their beds except Ava, trying to figure out where they were. "Do you know where we are?" Izzy asks, looking at Ava's map. Ava runs her finger along the blue part of the map. "There's not really a way to tell." Ava says, folding the map back and setting it next to her. "I bet we're at least pretty close-" Rachel says, getting cut off by the boat hitting something.
They all get jerked to the side, making Ava fall onto the floor. Izzy and Rachel topple over onto the metal railing on their beds. "What was that?" Izzy shouts, holding onto the railing for dear life. "Are you okay, Ava?" Rachel asks as Ava gets off of the floor. "Yeah, fine," Ava says, dusting herself off. "No really, what was that?" Izzy asks, startled. "I don't know!" Ava says. "I'll go look." Rachel says, opening the door behind her. "Be careful!" Ava says, remembering what happened to Lucy. "I will!" Rachel says, leaving the room to go check outside.
Rachel cracks the door open and looks outside to see a small iceberg. She rushes back inside knowing they're in Antarctica. "We're here!" Rachel shouts. "Really?" Izzy shouts as her and Ava spring up. "Yeah!" Rachel shouts, excitedly. They all run out of the room and go outside to see Antarctica to only be disappointed. They all look at the melted ice and warm water. "It's gone." Ava says, her heart sinking. She sits down and holds her legs to her chest in the shape of a ball. "What are we going to do now if we can't stay here?" Izzy asks. Rachel sighs. "I don't know." Rachel says, sadly. Their hope of survival slowly fades away as they look around at the view of what used to be Antarctica.
"We need a new plan, somewhere else to go." Ava says, trying to have hope. "Where else would we go?" Rachel asks, angered. Ava exhales slowly and looks around the boat and up at the sky. She stares at the shining stars and the distant void of space, trying to think of something they could do. Then, it hits her. "This may be a long shot but I have an idea." Ava says, looking back at the two. She stands up with everyone looking at her with hope in their eyes. "If Earth is dying, then why stay on it?" Ava asks, looking at both of them feeling excited. The brightness in Izzy and Rachel's eyes fade slightly. They both get an unsure look on their faces as they think more about the idea. "Before you say anything, just think for a second. Would you rather just die here or die trying to live? There may be a small chance but there's still a chance!" Ava says, getting ready for another adventure. Rachel and Izzy's faces go to a questioning look. They look at each other and nod their heads. "Might as well," Rachel says. "Let's do it!" Izzy shouts, ready to die trying. "Yes!" Ava says, smiling while bringing her fist up in success. Ava turns around quickly and starts to walk to the other side of the boat before being stopped by Rachel catching her on her shoulder and pulling her back. Izzy starts walking slowly to the other side of the boat as Ava and Rachel stop together. "Where did you get that energy from?" Rachel asks, knowing Ava is more of the chill, 'stay out of my way' kind of person. "Oh, I just try to do what Lucy would do. She was always there to make everyone happy, now that she's gone someone has to do it." Ava says, looking down and then into her sister's sad eyes. Rachel gives a warm smile with tears in her eyes. She wipes her eyes with the back of her hand and pats Ava on the shoulder. "Thanks for that by the way, I'm sure we all needed it." Rachel says, passing Ava while letting go of her shoulder. Ava gets a feeling of pride that she was able to cheer her friends up, she turns around and heads to the stairs on the boat. She gets to the stairs and runs to the top to get to the steering wheel. Izzy and Rachel follow her as she takes control of the ship. "Do you even know how to do that?" Izzy shouts to her. "Nope!" Ava shouts back, turning the wheel to the side making the boat turn. Her hands run up and down the wooden wheel admiring it while thinking one thing, "This is so cool!" Ava says in amazement.
Rachel and Izzy get to the top of the stairs and run to Ava at the wheel. "Here, I'll drive." Izzy says, grabbing the wheel. "I got it." Ava says, getting slightly annoyed. "No, you should let us drive, we might know how to do it." Izzy says, getting in the center of the wheel and pushing Ava out of the way. "Is it because I'm a kid? Are you afraid I won't be able to do it better because I'm younger?" Ava asks, dropping her 'Lucy' act. "Uh-" Izzy says, not knowing what to say. "Ava is pretty responsible, Izzy, she'll be fine steering it." Rachel says, laughing a little while watching them fight. Izzy sighs, feeling slightly embarrassed. She lets go of the wheel and takes a few steps away from it with her hands up. "There, you drive then." Izzy says, giving in. "Thanks." Ava says, rolling her eyes. "Oh, and someone should probably fix the front of the boat. It's pretty bad." Ava says, remembering the front of the boat being damaged from hitting the ice. "On it." Rachel and Izzy say. The two leave Ava and go to the front of the boat to try and figure out how to fix it.
After getting the boat turned around into the direction it needs to go and fixing the boat, they all go inside with low hopes that they'll make it to space. They spend the night playing games they make up, and asking questions that no person would dare to ask, very personal questions.
A little later, they get tired of talking and decide it's best to go to sleep, so everyone climbs into their bunks and tries to go to sleep with the obnoxious waves tossing the boat around making it almost impossible to get any rest.
