━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ JESSIE HELPED ME PUT THE CLOTHES ON AS I SLOWLY MOVED MY BODY FOR HER TO FIT THEM ON. I bit my lip as she pulled my pants over my thighs.
"Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded. She pulled them one last time and I zipped them up. I sat on my bed as Jessie grabbed my sneakers.
"I can put them on for you." She said. She began to gently place my feet in my shoes. I felt like a toddler who didn't know how to dress herself. She laced my shoes and tightened them to my liking.
"Thank you Jessie. I don't know what I'd do without you." I said. She gently hugged me as I hugged her tightly. It hurt my back when I stretched it but I didn't care, I loved her.
"You've survived without me for 3 years, you'd know what you would've done." She said as she tucked a strain of hair behind my ear.
"But it would be hard without you, like a missing piece of a puzzle that you can't find." I said. She cuffed my cheek.
"You've been through thick and thin, and you've suffered and lost. But you'll find someone who you will never lose, like me." She said. I smiled and leaned my head into her hand.
"I love you Jessie." I said.
"I love you too Quinn." She said. She hugged me one last time and helped me up. She brought me to the door and I let go of her.
"See, you can do things with or without me." She said. I smiled and gave her a small laugh.
"You're right, but it's better with you anyways." We both walked outside. Maggie was about to come in and stopped.
"Thank goodness you're okay." She said. She hugged me and I hugged her back.
"I told Rick everything." I said. She let go.
"I don't think that was a good idea."
"Don't worry, I told him not to."
"Telling Rick not to do something is kinda hard for his little brain he has." I laughed.
"I guess he's gotta learn." I said. Carl was out and about kicking rocks and I decided to scare him. I slowly crept behind him. I got close to his ear as spoke:
"Boo." I said he jumped and drew his knife.
"Woah calm down! It's just me." He dropped his knife and hugged me.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine now, I'm not dead." He smiled.
"At least your here." He said genuinely. We were now good friends, very good friends, a little bit too good of friends.
"Where's your dad at?" I asked.
"I saw him go into Jessie's house." He said. A weird feeling hit my gut.
"You okay." His hand reached for my shoulder.
"Yeah I'm okay, just had a weird feeling." I looked up and saw Rick yelling at someone in her house. My heart stopped for a moment.
"Oh god, I told him to not do anything." I sped over to the house but then the glass broke and I fell back. Pete and Rick were at each others necks, hitting each other to the point where they were constantly bleeding. Carl had helped me up and Enid had came to my side.
"Rick that's enough!" Deanna yelled. Jessie stood there in shock and disappointment. People were now surrounding the event as I bit my cheek.
"You do that again to her, I'll kill you." Rick said as his grip tightened on the man.
"Damn it Rick! I said stop!" Deanna said. Rick's face was covered in blood with a mix of insanity. People began to come close to him and try to get him off him.
"Or what? You gonna kick me out?" He drew his gun while saying this. I stepped back a bit and Carl grabbed my hand.
"Put that gun down Rick." Deanna pleaded. The silence was thick but Rick's heaves broke it.
"You still don't get it. NONE OF YOU DO!" He said still holding us at gunpoint.
"We know what needs to be done and we do it. We're the ones who plan." He paused for a moment. I think he finally lost it.
"You- you just sit and plan and hesitate! You pretend like you know when you don't." His words slurring as blood reached his saliva infested mouth.
"You wish things weren't what they are... well you wanna live? You want this place to stay standing? Your way of doing things was done." He said. Deanna stood her ground and scowled at him. Jessie was in distress so I walked over to her. I wrapped my arms around her as she sobbed in fear.
"Things don't get better because you... you want them to." Rick's head tilted more and more as he went on. Sam was on the other side with Carol as she held him in her arms.
"Starting right now, we have to live in the real world. We have to control, who lives here."
"That's never been more clear to me than it is right now." Deanna finally spoke up. Rick turned his head to her.
"M-Me?" He said with a laugh.
"You mean me? Your ways are gonna destroy this place. It's gonna get people killed, it's already gotten people killed and I'm not gonna stand by and just let it happen." I wanted to say something but I held myself back. What he was saying was right, we need to defend ourselves or this place is not gonna stand much longer.
"I'm not gonna stand by and-" Michonne came in with her gun and hit him hard in the head. He fell to the ground unconscious. I stood there in shock as michonne wiped away the blood.
"He needed to shut up." She said. Michonne was also right. He needed to shut up a bit.
"You can say that again." I blurted out. "But what he said, was right..." I said quieter than the first thing.
"Yes he was right, but he didn't need to be violent about it." She walked away and Jessie stood there frozen as me.
