"WE HAVE TO HELP THEM," CARL SAID UNLOCKING THE DOOR.

"Carl it's risky! We could risk ourselves getting killed out there." I said.

"Well, you've been out there as long as I have, so you'll know what to do." He said. He opened the door and ran out there. I bit my lip and sighed.

"Screw it!" I said. I opened the door and saw people jumping on other people and killing them, followed by a loud blaring horn. I ran over to the armory and found Carl grabbing guns.

"Here! Take one, you'll need it."

"Well no shit Sherlock," I said. It was a shotgun, not my favorite but reliable.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Ready as I can be." We both walked out there and saw more and more bodies flooding the town. I reloaded the shotgun and began shooting at the people who had "W's" on their foreheads. I shot a couple in the first few rounds. Carl stood by my side the whole time, not leaving me at all which was sweet but he could've gotten some of them in other parts of the community. We made it over to our house when I saw Enid.

"ENID!" I screamed. She looked over at me.

"Oh thank god you're not dead." She said. I shot another guy.

"Oh, so you don't believe in me surviving?" I jokingly asked. She just looked worried.

"Sorry, bad timing?" I got tackled to the ground by one of the W people. I kept pushing them back with my shotgun. I managed to get them off me with the help of Carl. I didn't see what he had so I thought he had just lost his weapon.

"What are you gonna do now huh?" I asked while not ready for whatever would happen. He threw his arm across and it was a machete. It managed to cut my face all the way across, just a nice clean line. I stood back and felt the blood dripping from my face. I shot the shotgun and watched the person fall.

"No one ever cuts me," I said. Carl looked over at me in worry.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm okay, it just stings a little. Thanks for asking though, now let's get inside before I get hurt more." I said. We were about walk inside when I heard a familiar yell. I turned around and saw Ron, being pushed to the ground by a W person.

"RON!" I yelled. I pointed my barrel at the person and shot them straight in the head. Ron got up and stood there in shock.

"Quinn! Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yes, now come inside! You'll be safe!" I said as I ushered him to come to the house. He gave me a disgusted look. He shook his head and ran off, I just sighed and ran inside with both Enid and Carl. I closed the door and locked it.

"What was that about?" Enid said.

"Ron doesn't trust Carl," I said.

"Why? I didn't do anything wrong." He said.

"Yeah, he's just mad at your father for killing his dad. If I was in that position, I would too. But considering all the crimes he's committed to that family, I wouldn't be that angry." I said.

"You're saying that as if that's not bothering you," Carl replied.

"Well, it kinda is since I was the one who punched him in the nose," I said.

"Why did you punch him in the nose?" Enid asked.

"Because he said that I was being a slut toward his dad," I said while rubbing my arm. My eyes grew wide.

"Carl, where's Judith?" I asked.

"Don't worry, she's upstairs." He said.

"Could you check, please? I just get worried." I asked. He nodded and went upstairs. Enid sighed and grabbed her stuff. I looked at her and stopped her.

"Where do you think you're going?" I asked.

"Nowhere." She said as she tried to push me out of the way. I gave her a look and she sighed.

"I'm getting out of here, this place isn't for me. And Rick was right for what he said that day, saying that we'll die if we don't protect ourselves, and look where that brought us." She said.

"Enid you don't have to leave. This place can change." I said.

"Well, I'm not seeing that now am I? I love you Quinn, but I can't stay any longer." She said.

"No Enid please don't, you are the only girl here, well the only girl here practically my age, but also someone who I can talk to," I said.

"You can make it without me." She said as she grabbed my hands.

"But h-how?" I said my lip trembling.

"Just survive somehow." She said. I hugged her as she hugged me back.

"I'm not gonna leave just yet, but after a few, I'll be gone. I love you a lot, Quinn. Make good memories with Carl." She said.

"W-What about Ron?" I asked.

"I don't think Ron is right for me anymore. Time and time again I've noticed he's very, counterintuitive." She said. I nodded and she hugged me one last time. I heard Carl's footsteps come down the stairs, with a baby Judith. I awed and I held my hands out. She looked up at me and smiled while tugging at my hair.

"She likes you." He said. I smiled. I looked over and Enid nodded. I handed back the baby to Carl.

"I'll be right back, just gotta freshen up," I said. I walked upstairs and looked at Enid. She gave me a warm smile and I smiled back. I went to one of the rooms and closed the door. I began to cry knowing that Enid may not come back at all. I wiped most of the tears while crying, trying not to make them noticeable. I looked out the window and saw Carl killing off some of the people. I sighed and realized that she left, not wanting to let Carl know.

I walked downstairs to find Judith on the floor, upset. I picked her up and shushed her while wiping her tears away.

"No need to cry love, it'll be okay," I said. I heard the door click and I grabbed my knife. It was Carl walking through the door, wiping the blood off his hands.

"Hey, where's Enid?" He asked. I looked around cluelessly.

"I don't know, I didn't see her after I went upstairs." I looked around and saw a paper.

"Carl, you may wanna look at this," I said. He came over and looked at the paper.

"Just survive somehow."

"Where did she go?" Carl asked.

"Maybe over the wall?" I said. "But she could be far out there by now, and it's too risky considering that we're under attack, and there's a herd of walkers walking by this way," I said. He sighed.

"Do you think she'll be back?" He asked.

"I don't know, I know Enid and I know that she doesn't stop what she's doing until she's done, which means she may not come back," I said. He sighed.

"At least you're still here." He said with a small smile. I smiled back and Judith cooed. I looked down at her and felt Carl come closer while wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I smiled and looked at him, his crystal blue eyes hypnotizing me.

"She has your mother's smile," I said.

"You remember my mother?" He said.

"Like it was yesterday." He smiled and took Judith from me while walking upstairs. I stood there, flustered in a way knowing that day, the day when it all started, she was the only person who I had told that I liked him.
