chapter 1

y/n had just woken up, sweat dripping off her head she glanced over at the clock which read 4:05 am. she had a dream about her mom for what seems like the 200th time since she's been gone. only this time the dream was worse, you were walking with her in the woods when a Walker reached out and grabbed her, tearing her to pieces right in front of you. she didnt go back to sleep and decided to wait until she heard her what she considered her father figure, glenn moving around downstairs.

"morning kiddo" glenn said messing up her hair walking to the kitchen counter
"morning" she said sitting down in the kitchen chair
"i gotta go on a run today and maggie's gonna be helping deanna with the upcoming projects, i was thinking you could go to jessie's with carl? how does that sound?" he asked her reaching into the fridge
"do i have too" she whined, she didn't feel like watching carl and enid flirt the whole time and ron try to flirt with her.
"I'd like for you too" he said smiling at her
"but glennnn" she started to beg
"no buts, your going. I'll tell Rick to have Carl come get you before he goes. Better eat something kid" he said before walking out of the kitchen and then out of the house.

great just what she needed, time with the kids of alexandria. carl was sweet and she loved hanging out with him since he's known her since Atlanta. They'd gone through so much together, but now what used to be her best friend is enid's boyfriend. oh how lucky she was.

she walked outside and sat on the porch eating a sandwich when glenn came back up the stairs leading to his house which she stayed at

"im leaving now kiddo, carl's comin by in 10 ok?" he said patting her head once again
"fine by me since im practically being held against my will!" she said sarcastically
"oh cmon, you and carl used to be so close!" he said giving her a look
"it's not carl." she said
"well make new friends!" he said turning around to leave as she stood up
"glenn?" she started
"yeah?" he turned around to looked at the girl in her eyes.
"be safe please?" she said hugging him and he patted her back
"always kid. try and have some fun today for me?" he said pulling away from the hug
"only for you" she said smiling and then he left.
