~ Hyunjin ~

I decided today is the day to ask Felix out again. It's been a week and a half, and as much as I enjoy talking in class, I absolutely adore personal time with him. He's literally so sweet and funny.

I had thought about it all night, so I prepared to ask in first period. When I walked in the room, he was already sitting down, scrolling on his phone with headphones in.

I quietly crept behind him and blew on him from behind, my lips lightly touching his ear in the process. Almost like a kiss. I smiled goofily. He jumped forward and ripped his earbud out with a start, whipping around to see who kissed him.

"Holy shit you scared me! God. Why'd you do that?" His hand was over his heart and he took a deep, stabilizing breath.

"Just wanted to surprise you." I went and sat in my chair. "You look super cute today, by the way. I almost didn't want to bother you in your adorable state, staring at your phone."

His eyes widened and he coughed out that deep breath. "Oh. T-Thanks." His cheeks were pink, as they usually are when we speak.

"What were you doing before I scared you? Listening to music? Scrolling on Pinterest?" I held my head up on my hand to get comfortable.

"Uh I was just rewatching a dance tutorial to a song."

"Ooh! You dance?"

His pink blush turned red. "Yeah.."

"Wow!" I looked him up and down and definitely wanted to see him dance. I bet he's phenomenal at it. "Can I see? Can you do the dance you were watching?" I bet I looked like an eager child. I was, in a way.

"Uh.. No?" He made an awkward face and I felt bad for asking. Of course you shouldn't ask someone to show you their talent/hobby the second they mention it. It's like asking an artist to draw you; super rude.

"Oh my god! Sorry! I shouldn't have asked! That was rude. Sorry." I waved my hand in the air to dismiss my request.

Before he replied, though, he zoned out on the table. It looked like he was thinking hard and then he hesitantly made eye contact with me. "Actually... There is.. I mean.. You can watch me dance, if you want."

I lit up. "For real?! Yes! I'd love that!" I resisted the urge to jump up and hug him. That'd be kinda weird.

"Well.. Uh.. You'd have to like come home with me because.." He shook his head with closed eyes. "It's hard to explain. Can you come with me after school? We'll go to my house and then I'll show you where I dance."

His eyes looked worried I'd reject or say no. Obviously I proved his doubts wrong. "Of course! Where should we meet?"

"Big tree like last time?"

"Yes!" I raised a victorious fist in the air to express my excitement. I looked back at him with sincere eyes. "I was actually going to ask you on another date today, but I guess you read my mind! Can we call this a date, today?"

He chuckled and looked away. "Yes."

"You'd like that?"

He nodded and looked back at me shyly. "I'd like that."

I don't know how someone this perfect and adorable came to be, but I'm digging it. Digging him.

"So Felix. I actually remember you hanging out with Chae and Ryujin. Those were their names, right?" I didn't try to look away when speaking. I looked right into his eyes and he looked right into mine. It felt genuine. Like we're not just speaking for no reason, but because every conversation between us means everything. It means the world.

"Yeah." He sounded a bit breathless, like he was lost in thought. "Why do you ask?"

"Just remembered. I never saw you hanging out with anyone before so I was glad to see that you have others. Even if you didn't," I shrugged in playful haughtiness, "I'm such a good friend that I'd make up for it."

He giggled. Wow. I like that. No. I love it. "Yeah, them and I are friends, I guess. We have lunch together, so we got to know each other decently."

"Ooh. In the counselor's office?" I think it would honestly be very enjoyable to join them and hang out at lunch. If I'm welcome, of course.

His eyes pulled away at this and he finally blinked. I didn't want him to look away. I liked the intimacy of eye contact with him.

"Yeah."

I hummed. I didn't want to assume anything or jump to conclusions, but he seemed suddenly different. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

"Did I say something?" I decided to be upfront about it because I never want anyone to be uncomfortable because of me.

He looked back at me, a tad bit panicked. Our eyes met and everything felt okay again. "No. I just.. Didn't want you to think I'm weird for hanging out with the counselor."

"Oh." I chuckled and reached out to ruffle his hair, which felt like silk between my fingers. His eyes shut to not get poked by A.W.O.L. hair strands. I cooed.

"I don't think it's weird. It's not weird."

"Okay. Sorry."

I smiled and shook my head. "Would it be okay if I hung out at lunch with y'all?"

He looked genuinely surprised and slightly incredulous. "You're kidding, right?"

"..No? I'd love to."

His eyebrows raised and he smiled comfortably. "Of course you can come, Hyunjin. They'd love it." He paused. "I'd love it."
