I miss Vlive.. :(

~ Bangchan ~

I walked out of the next period without Chaeryeong. She skipped to acquire detention status.

She was waiting outside the door and smiled mischievously at me. "Hey."

"Hey. So we're gonna wait for a sec until he comes out and sees you to give you detention?"

She nodded and relaxed against the wall. "Give it like five seconds."

I side-eyed her posture, in a good way, of course. Not a judgmental way. She seemed so put together and sure of herself. I wonder how I didn't become closer friends with her before.

Probably because she purposely gets detention to carry out schemes and I usually lay low.

I'm just kidding. Or am I?

Mr. Allen came out to close the door, but he caught sight of the truant and stood in the doorway with folded arms.

"Well, well, Ms. Lee. What brings you here? You do realize you are a whole class period late, and going to be late to your next class if you loiter around the halls like this?"

She didn't glance at him, only reached into her pocket to get her phone and scroll blandly on it.

"Miss Lee! Do not ignore me!"

"Hm? Oh, sorry, I clogged my ears recently. What'd you say?"

I had to push down the urge to laugh at Mr. Allen's face. He looked beyond pissed.

"You will be attending detention this afternoon for so carelessly skipping my class. If you don't show up, you'll have Saturday detention for this week and the next!"

He spun around and back into his room, the door shutting lightly behind him.

I was very impressed. "I've never seen you show attitude to anyone before. That was hilarious!"

She raised her eyebrows and smirked, clearly satisfied with her sentence. "Well. I feel like we should discuss how you'll distract and get him to leave the room, but I actually would rather be surprised. You got this!"

She sped down the hall, presumably to her next class, and my heart nearly stopped when I realized I also have like no time to get to class.

——

I was sweating, trying to come up with a way to distract him. I wish Chae had helped me earlier, but I get that I can't just leech off of all her ideas without putting in my two cents.

I was in the men's bathroom across his room. I'd been here for twenty minutes. Since detention starts ten minutes after the bell, I plan to wait just ten more minutes before acting out my part.

A painfully cliché idea plagued my mind. If I pulled the fire alarm, I'd clear three problems with one stone.

I'd get the teacher out of class and all the students, so no one student can be narrowed down to be guilty. Thirdly, and I hadn't thought of this before, it'd clear students out while she stole the papers so no students could witness and testify of it.

Even though any student who said something would have to be a massive loser, since everyone normal hates Mr. Allen.

I went to the bathroom and then, when it had been 30 minutes after the bell, I went out into the hall and casually pulled the fire alarm.

I rushed back into the bathroom so he wouldn't see me alone in the hall and know it's me. Seconds later, rushed footsteps are heard.

I join the kids out in the hall since the crowd conceals me, and made my way into Mr. Allen's room when everyone was gone.

In it, Chae was hurriedly explaining herself to a confused Hyunjin who looked like he wanted to bolt.

"So there's no fire?"

"There isn't. You pulled it, right?" She turned to me and asked.

I quickly nodded and then ushered them to his desk. I saw the yellow pad he wrote attendance on and ripped the top page off, shoving it in my back pocket.

Chaeryeong and Hyunjin shoveled through his desk for a few seconds before she squealed.

I shot her a fearful look, since anyone could hear, though I'm sure no one's in the building anymore.

She grabbed a huge stack of papers out, handing a third to Hyunjin and then another third to me.

We ran back out of the room and into the men's bathroom I was previously in.

"Now we just have to hide here until everyone comes back in. Then we fucking bolt out of here, before he notices his attendance is gone or anything else is missing."

Hyunjin sighed and leaned against the stall door. We all huddled in the handicapped one, since it's big and anyone would see us if they walked in and we weren't in the stall.

"Sorry to ask again, but what's going on?"

We laughed briefly. Poor Hyunjin.

"We decided to serve Mr. Allen karma for being such a shithead, so she got detention to steal all his semester exams and I pulled the alarm to get him out of the room while she does it."

He gaped and wiped the back of his hand across his forehead to collect sweat. "You guys are crazy." He shook his head and eyes me up and down. "I'd never expect rebellion from you, Chan."

I chuckled and pointed to the true perpetrator. "Chaeryeong convinced me."

"Hey! You agreed! We're all equally guilty now."

I patted her on the back and let my arm rest around her shoulders. "How long do fire alarm scares usually last?"

"I'd say 10-20 minutes," Hyunjin answered.

I frowned. "Twenty minutes stuck with you two. Did you guys know you smell like detention now?"

"What?"

"I didn't even know that was a thing?" Hyunjin rolled out.

"Yep. Like boomer crack."

"What? You sound crazier than me right now," Chae accused.

"You smell like Mr. Allen's pale asscrack."

They gagged and backed up from me.

"You're weirder than I remember." Hyunjin gave me a once-over again. "Hanging out with Chae has changed you."

"Hey! You guys blame me for everything!" Despite her whining tone, her comfortable smile showed she had no problem with out bickering.
