Josh's POV:
"Why are we playing this?"
"So we can get drunk quicker". Bea responds
"Fine, I'll start" I sit up
"Never have I ever lied about my feelings"
I look at her dead in the eye, knowing that she still likes me.
Everyone takes a shot, Bea takes two.
Sooner or later we are all BADLY drunk.
Like it's so bad we're slurring our words.
Sophia opens her mouth to speak "Never have I ever fallen in love with Josh."
Everyone goes silent.
"Who the fuck would be dumb enough to fall in love with Josh." Bea giggles
I'm so embarrased.
What the fuck. Why's she in love with me?
"I loooove you so much" then she leans closer and whispers "let's go make Bea jealous"
The fuck- I mean I knew Sophia wasn't smart. But why would I want to make Bea jealous. I don't even- I don't even like her.
Right?
———————————————————————————
Bea's POVJosh and Sophia go upstairs. Probably to fuck. Do I care? No. She's just your normal pretty girl with no substance. No meaning, no purpose in life.
But if Josh wants a brain dead girl then go for it. But I'm not that kind of girl.
I love Ryan so much, and as I stare into his eyes I'm reminded how lucky I am. But I'm also fearful that this is too good to be true. Could it be?
Grace walks over to me "Bea, can we talk?"
"Yeah, sure."
Grace, Grace is someone who I have a lot of patience with. Because, honestly, she is the only one that understands me fully, she made me realise that friends and relationships aren't just based on race. We have so much in common and I just hate that boys have to jeopardise our friendship.
However, I do think that she's putting Theo before anyone else and that's just stupid. But we'll see how it goes.
"Bea, I just wanted to say sorry"
SORRY?! She has the ability to apologise...
"I've been so fucking ignorant and stupid, I put Theo first when it should've been you. I invited Ryan and I'm so sorry. Can we just go back to being how we were"
"Of course we can. I've missed you so much"
And I give her a big hug, because to be honest I have missed her, a lot.
"I think we need to talk about Ryaan"
"I know, it's going so well."
"So.... Tell me the details"
"Well basically the night after Josh's I went back to his-"
"AHH. No way Bea!! Aww that's so cute. Sorry, sorry carry on!"
"Then he told me he loved me!! And now I'm just in love, like honestly I think he's the one Grace"
I look in the corner in the eye and I see Josh peeping through, just as I fully turn my head he disappears.
That's weird.
"Omg. Bea I'm so happy for you. You deserve the world, honestly Josh wasn't the best one for you."
"Oh shush, you need to tell me about Theo"
Do I really want to hear about Josh's best friend, no. But do I care about Grace? Yes. A lot
"He's so sweet, I lost my virginity to hi-"
"You did what?!"
Why the fuck would she do that, the whole school knows that he just plays around. No no no Grace!
"I'm so happy for you Grace. Just be careful"
I have to be happy for her, I don't want her to think that I'm jealous.
"Aww I know, but I feel like he likes me too. It would've been cute if you dated Josh."
"No, not really. I'm honestly so happy."
We go back downstairs, I sit next to Ryan . She sits next to Theo, and Josh starts talking.
"Guys, I know we're all staying here tonight, so we have to cooperate with eachother. Here's how it going to work. Theo and Grace in the basement guest room, Bea and Ryan in the guest room upstairs. And Sophia and I in my room."
Sophia giggles.
Disgusting. Is it possible to find someone so annoying that you just choose to ignore their existence? Well. That's what I do with Sophia.
"Well, I'm tired so I'll be off. Let's go Rya-"
"Wait, Bea, can we talk?"
"There's nothing to talk about Bro." Ryan interrupts.
"I wasn't talking to you. Speak when you're spoken to."
And that was it. Everyone in this school knows that Ryan is known for getting into fights. Like, A LOT. But, he also has a tendency to win them all. And I hate when this happens, I hate it so much. Seeing Ryan angry is the scariest thing, because I never wnat to see him like this, I never want to see him feel pain.
Ryan pushes Josh, punches him in the face. Leans close and punches him again. I- I can't do this.
"Ryan, stop. Please" I was crying on my knees, pleading, knowing that I was hopeless because Ryan could only see red.
Punch after punch, Josh is on the floor, I can't even recognise him with all of the blood smeared on his face.
"Don't talk to her ever again, do you understand me?" He holds his head in his hands.
"DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" He yells.
"I'm sorry you had to see that babe."
"You're sorry. YOU'RE SORRY RYAN? Let's go. Upstairs. We need to talk now."
I storm up the stairs, I can't do this anymore. I can't endure more pain.
"Ryan what the hell was that?"
"I'm sorry." He starts to kiss my neck
"That's it? You're sorry."
He leaves trails of kisses from my cheek to my neck.
"How bout I make it up to you?"
"Depends what's on offer?"
He throws me on the bed.
"Ahaha Ryan. Stop. You know we have Josh next door."
He leans closer, opens his mouth and says.
"This is why, you need to be louder tonight."
