A small village is seen with a lot of hustle and bustle. The busy roads, the peoples around, some of them were sitting outside their shops playing chess. Some of them were talking to each other

Some of the women were standing in their balcony looking out while some were inside their kitchen making food. The children were playing football on the street as it was afternoon time. Everyone was busy!

The two girls were seen coming turning from a street, they were having bags on their backs, one of them were having a smile on her face while other was a bit sad

Biding bye to each other the one left on the right side while the other start walking

"Good afternoon dear" she stopped listening the voice

"Good afternoon uncle How are you?"

"Fine Fine where are you coming from, College?"

"Yes today was our result"

"Oh so how it was? And what about Navya?"

"Uncle I got First position and Navya got third that is why she is a bit sad"

"Why third is not so bad but where is she?"

"Yeah I tried to explain her but you know how she is, she went home she thought you will be there"

"Okay I think I should go home then to lighten up her mood by the way Nandini dear congratulations on your success your mom will be proud on you as you are the first girl to get position No doubt we all are very proud of you" he said while she smiled

"Thank you uncle"

"Okay okay now go home and surprise your mom" he said while she nodded and left

"Congratulations Nandini dear" She looked up and smiled

"Thankyou Anupam Auntie how are you?"

"Absolutely fine after listening your result. I think you should teach my daughter a bit as she is having no Interest in studies"

"Sure sure"

Nandini's pov

Finally I reached home, so many congratulations but not from the woman I want

I went towards the kitchen as I know she will there only. With a slow steps I stood behind her and closed her eyes

"Nandini! Where were you?" she asked

Why I always forget I am her only child and no one else lives here so definitely she know whose behind, I withdraw my hands making a bad face

"I was gossiping with your friends outside"

"Okay but today was your result right?"

"Don't ask about this Mom I am already very sad"

"Why what happened?"

"The result is bad mom I... I failed in 3 exams can you imagine?"

"What? How is this possible You are the most brightest student of your college I do-"

"You don't believe me see this!" I said showing her the result

She looked carefully and smiled

"You can never change right?"

"Off course not now congratulate me?" she hugged me tightly
