Chapter 7

-The Picnic

~Max Knight P.O.V.

Rosie and I were talking for hours straight at night time. And then at like two o'clock she started dozing off so I stopped talking to her and let her fall asleep. But for some reason I couldn't sleep and I couldn't get that dang smile off my face! For some odd reason I was just happier than usually. It is from talking to Rosie, I don't know but, when I am with her I am just so happy.

Rosie started snoring and it was so cute. I love her snore so much. Everything about her, I love. I kind of started playing with the ends of her hair. I know it sounds weird but it was just so tempting. But I stopped, and I decided to just try to sleep. But it was hard because I was thinking of so many things. But then I started feeling tired at six o'clock and after that I fell asleep.

~~~~~
By the time I woke up it was nine o'clock and Rosie was still next to me, sleeping. This girl can sleep for a long time. Well since I couldn't sleep anymore I decided to just get ready for the day. I slowly got up and went straight into the shower. After my shower I got back out and did everything else I needed to do. By the time I got out I saw Rosie sitting on my bed.
"Morning" I said and I think she got a little scared cause she jumped a little.
"Oh god, you scared me Max" she said in her beautiful voice.
"Yeah I figured" I said. "So you have anything planned today." I asked out of the blues.
"Umm, nothing planned today." She said.
"Good, cause you are coming with me today to a boring, horrifying, family picnic. My family is having a picnic and all my cousins are coming. So yeah" I said
"What? Do I have to come?" She asked.
"Not if you don't want to, but it would be nice if you did I don't really want to be alone over there and it is probably going to be boring there, so I need someone to talk to, and you are the perfect person. So do you want to come? Please come." I asked her, hoping she would say yes. "Besides you have nothing else to do anyways, you said it yourself." I added.
"Umm, let me think for a second." She said. So I gave her a second and then it became a minute, and another minute and she still hasn't said a word.
"Rosie?" I asked.
"Huh, oh yeah right, sorry, haha, sure why not it would be nice to meet all your cousins, I guess." She said.
"Good, now hurry up cause I have to drop you off at your house to so you can change." I said, I was happy she said yes because first thing my cousins are all younger than me and they are boring and second it will let me spend more time with Rosie.
~~~~~

I drove back to her house so she can take a shower and so she can change.

"Hurry up Rosie we are going to be late. Plus it is like a thirty minute drive." I hollered across her house. Rosie was taking the longest shower ever.

"Hold your horses; I will be down in a sec!" She said.

"I didn't take freakin two hours to change, why are you taking freakin forever and besides you don't need to be all dolled up cause it is just a stupid family picnic!" I was losing my patience with this girl.

"Well first boys don't take that long to get ready and also you just put on a jacket and a beanie and you're done! I on the other hand have to look really nice cause I am meeting your family not mines and you know me, I always want to look nice!" She practically yelled at me while walking down the stairs. I got a glimpse of her and she did look really pretty. Her hair was all curled and she was wearing just a little make-up and a really nice flower printed dress that was just a little above her knees.

"So how do I look?" She asked.

"Horrible. Now let's go."

"What?! I have to go back and change now." She said with a worried look.

I grabbed her arm to stop her from running up the stairs. "Rosie I was just kidding you look beautiful. Now let's go!"

"I know right! I wouldn't look this pretty if I took like five minutes to get ready. Beauty takes time, beauty takes time man." She said with a smile on her face. "Ohh! I need shoes can't forget the most important thing, shoes!" Now this girl was known for her shoes she had the best shoes ever and she loved heels so much. She has hundreds of pairs of heels. But she also had some that weren't heels. She decided to wear a no heel pair, I'm thinking because we are going to be on grass and probably because it goes with her dress. This girl also knows how to dress herself.

"Okay I am ready, let us go." She said. "Oh wait."

"Now what! Rosie you're making me lose my temper here."

"Sorry, I just forgot my phone. Okay now we can go." She said.

"Are sure? You got everything done? You are positive?" I asked just to make sure.

"I'm positive now stop being sassy with me now let us go!"

"Okay then."

~~~~~
We got to the picnic just in time. Which was good cause my mom would start yelling at me, in a corner, so nobody would hear.
At first Rosie was all shy but then she met a bucket load of kids and started talking. Plus there were a bunch of babies there. And Rosie loves babies. Every time she sees a baby she goes and starts talking to the mom saying how cute the baby is and etc. so yeah Rosie was pretty happy during the whole picnic.
At six o'clock some people started leaving, but my mom wanted to stay and help clean up so Rosie and I decided to go for a walk.
"How come you are so quiet? I mean that was your family and I was talking to them more than you were. Besides you have tons of friends at school but can't even make one friend here?" She asked.
"I don't know, I am not really a talkative type around family. And you know that."
"True, true, but still, its family you should talk."
"Yeah I know." I said. "So it looked like you made a lot of friends today, huh?" I asked.
"Yeah, your family is so funny and amazing I love them. It kind of makes me feel sad that my mom and dad are never around and plus I never see my cousins cause they all live far away. But you, you have a family here yet you don't even talk to them, you have this precious family you should start using that as an opportunity to like having a happy life. Cause trust me, in a couple of years you will regret not talking to them." she said. Her voice was getting all choked up; I can tell she was starting to cry even though I can't even see her eyes. "I mean I don't even get to see my mom or dad for week's cause they are always on stupid business trips," and now she was having waterfalls coming down her eyes. I don't even know what to say to her cause my mom and dad are always here. So I just pulled her into a hug, and I let her cry it all out.
"I am sorry Rosie. I can't say anything to you, I can't even give any advice but I know everything will get better." I said.
"How do you know, your mom and dad are always with you twenty-four seven." She said.
"I know" I whispered. I started to feel really sad for her cause I really don't know how it feels to have your mom and dad gone all the time. I mean whenever I am mad, or sad, I go to my mom or dad for comforting. And Rosie, she has nobody to go to. That is when one tear drop what threatening to  slip from my eyes, but I know I couldn't let it slip I had to be strong, for Rosie.
"Rosie I know you don't have a mom or dad to talk to you when you are upset or angry but I just want you to know that I am always available to talk to with your girly problems." I said giving her my best. She giggled a little which made me smile.
"Thanks Max, I love you so much, you're the most amazing friend ever."
"Love you too."
