Two days have passed since the incident with Charlotte and I haven't heard a word from her. Sebastian and I didn't end up having milkshakes after school. I didn't feel in the mood. All of my phone calls to Charlotte were getting rejected and I have no idea why.
I hope she doesn't blame me for what happened. All I was trying to do was calm her down but in future I will let her get on with it. No matter how hard I want to help her.
In pass two days I have had people who I know and people who I don't tell me that Charlotte is spreading lies about me. I say that everything is fine and there is no problems between us however I starting to think that I have actually hurt Charlotte's feelings.
The more Charlotte ignores me the more I get annoyed at her. I just want her to tell me that she is fine and that everything can go back to normal. I don't think that will be happening any time soon.
It was break time. I was with Chloe, Jessica, Rebecca and Sebastian filling them in with what happened when I felt some one tap my shoulder
"Why are you talking about me?" Charlotte demanded causing everyone to become silent "Why can't you just keep my name out of your mouth"
I stood there frozen. Was she actually talking about me or someone else. I didn't understand where this anger was coming from. If anything I should be angry at her.
"What are you talking about Charlotte" Rebecca Scolded "If anything Lauren has been tying to help you"
"If she wanted to help me she should have stood up for me when Oliver was attacking me"
Rebecca looked like she was about to go off on one. I grabbed her arm pulling her back
"Just leave it I do not want to fight"
"Your just going to let her say all these things about you and let her get away with it because I cant" Rebecca said her tone helpless
"Charlotte look I don't want to fight here so please can we go somewhere quiet and talk like adults" I pleaded
One look around at our surroundings and all I could see were people with their phones out. They are probably filming or taking photos, just my luck
"Not until you tell me why you didn't stick up for me in class like a good friend should" Charlotte shouted
"I tried to help you. I tried to calm you down. What was I meant to do storm out of the class to go looking for you because that is selfish. I had a lot of work to do that day and got nothing done because of you" I replied looking her dead in the eye "what do you want me to do, I will do anything for you and you know that but I have to think about me and what I want to do in September. I don't want to be caught in a silly little argument because you let Oliver get to you"
Charlotte took one step closer to me, I took one step back "I would have come after you. I would have stood up to Oliver for you instead of saying nothing because that's what best friends do. Your just a coward Lauren. I wish we had never become best friends. I wish we had never met"
I stood there with my mouth open as she walked away. Most people went back to what they were doing before Charlotte confronted me. How could she say that? How could she think I wasn't trying to help her?
She was the one who provoked him. She knows how to push Oliver's button and him right back. Charlotte cant let things go. That is one of her major problems. She doesn't even help herself and now she hates me.
Never has she once come running when I'm upset. Most of the time she looks at me with dismay just like the rest of the class. Its actually quite funny how we say things that are not true when we are angry.
Lets just say I have done way more for her than she has ever done for me. Good riddance to her. If she wants to stay mad she can stay mad. I'm not going to ask her to be friends again not after what she has said to me.
