Everything has changed

chapter 16

After meeting Charlotte at the cafe I went back home to talk to Sebastian, Chloe, Jessica and Rebecca. I had to let them know about the talk with Charlotte. Sebastian and Rebecca kept on texting me to make sure I was alright I was trying to keep my attention on Charlotte.

She was crying a lot saying sorry for everything she has done in the last few weeks. Charlotte was asking about how the others were. I had to tell her the truth. Sebastian and Chloe are angry with her for all of the pain she has put me through and Rebecca and Jessica are upset with her for putting them in a situation they were not involved in.

I was telling them this over facetime. No matter what I said Sebastian was not buying it.

"Shes never gonna change no matter how many times she apologizes I will not forgive her"

"Come on she has a lot going on right now she needs our support"

"Lauren I know you want us to forgive and move on but I cant" Jessica said

Chloe nodded in agreement "Lauren we saw you cry for her, we saw you try to talk to her. She ignored you at every turn. Why should we just forgive and forget"

"Is that how you feel Rebecca?" I asked

"Im with the others on this. We always forgive her, she never learns. We are going to college soon how long can we keep on forgiving her. When will enough be enough Lauren thats what we have to think about"

I know she is right. We have been dealing with Charlotte and her problems for far too long how much more can we take before we break?

Why is this so hard, why do I have to be the way that I am and want to keep people together?

Often times I wonder if they would do the same. Sebastian would give you two chances until he's had enough. He has said on more than one occasion that the only reason he still talks to Charlotte is because of me. He doesnt think its fair for anyone to choose between friends.

Rebecca could hardly give a damn, she keeps on saying how much Charlotte is not her friend and is only nice to her because it makes me happy. To be honest I don't think thats fair. If she doesn't like Charlotte she should just let me know. I would figure out a way to be friends with them both.

Choe wants to be her friend but Charlotte has never given her the chance. There were moments where they were best buddies. I actually don't know what happened after that. Charlotte seems to keep her distance from Chloe, I just don't know why but I do want to know. I think they would get on so well together

Jessica stopped trying for a friendship with Chloe last year after another argument. She said she couldn't do it anymore trying to be friends with someone who treats her so badly. I totally get that I do however who will be there for Charlotte if she hasn't got me?

I put my head in my hands "why does she do this?why does she push everyone away?"

"Lauren we will never change the way you are, you just help people thats just your nature. We may not forgive Charlotte but if you want to we will be here" Sebastian reassured me

"You will always have us" Chloe extended her pinky finger

"You cant do a pinky promise over facetime" I laugh "It doesn't work like that"

"It still counts anyway I got you to laugh my job here is done"

We stayed on the phone for a couple of minutes before I retreated to my bed. It had been a long and exhausting day. My head is spinning of what to do next

I want to get everyone talking again. Maybe if we can all get into the same room and say whats on our minds, it may work just until we finnish school. We only have a month to go then we don't have to talk to each other again if thats what they want

For now we still need to see Charlotte in school we can't just ignore her for the remaining time we have left. That just doesn't sit right with me
