After class, I walked to the library before I had to meet up with Sebastian. Mr. Miller has let us out early. It was supposed to be a treat for us as we had completed our work but he has to find Charlotte. There was no one else to look after the class.
I am so annoyed at Charlotte. She never learns. No matter what happens Charlotte always lets her anger win. Now she has after-school detention. That's only if Mr. Miller can find her. Knowing her she went home.
The first time she did this was when we were in year seven. Back then I hardly knew her. People who I never knew started to come up to me telling me how argumentative Charlotte was. I didn't believe them. Back then the Charlotte I saw was this sweet innocent girl. There was no way she could raise her voice and storm out of class. No way.
Boy did she prove me wrong? The first time I saw that side of her was when we were in form. All Mrs. Davies asked Charlotte was where her uniform was. Even though it was September it was extremely hot but our uniform required us to have a blazer on. Charlotte had it in her bag.
"Come on miss it's like twenty degrees outside and I'm sweating buckets"
They went back and forth for a while until Charlotte stormed out of the class. I felt secondhand embarrassment for her. After that, I got what everyone was talking about. Charlotte was very disruptive in class. If I wasn't put in the same class as her I probably wouldn't be her friend.
However, she is the only person in the class that was willing to give me a chance. When I arrived at the school I was very shy and quiet. Charlotte was the only one who was able to break me out of my shell with Sebastian being the second.
How could I walk away from that? Don't get me wrong there have been many times in the four years that I have known her where I have questioned our friendship. Every time I think I'm through something pulls me back.
I can't bear to think about never being Charlotte's friend. We have been through so much together since joining this school. Why would I want to throw away that friendship?
As I was sitting in the library reading my book I saw Scarlett Lane, Troy Anderson, and Nina Lowery out of the corner of my eye coming towards me. A shiver went down my spine. They never come to the library unless they want something from me
"I don't know how you do it" Scarlett shrieked as she pulled a chair to the table
"Do what?" I asked not lifting my eyes from my book
"Stay friends with Charlotte" Voiced Nina "You have more patients than me. Did you hear how she talked to Mr. Miller? If I did that my mum would be up at the school in a heartbeat"
Troy pulled down the book so I was directly looking at him "No one is on Charlotte's side. We are all on your side. Don't worry about what others say. Everything will be okay"
They were only trying to help. I appreciate them for that. All that is going through my mind is how angry Charlotte will be when I'll see her. I know she will want to know why I didn't take her side. That is a conversation I want to have.
