This will be us, part one.
GREER VALOUR had never been good at anything, and she knows that as much as she wanted to be good at anything, she can't because every time she go outside 35 Portland Row, she felt like someone is watching her and it made her heart pounding like a mad dog.
Greer woke up with the sun on her face for the second time as she felt Lockwood move behind her "It's okay, stay asleep." Lockwood whispered to the girl's ear as the girl drift back to sleep for the second time, she was given a chance to sleep again and she likes it.
By the time she woke up for a second time, it was already noon and the birds no longer chirp like they did in the morning and the sun is starting to set out.
The house is quiet again, she didn't hear anything the moment she opens the room of Lockwood's room, and she passes by George's room with her head down.
But before she went down to the kitchen, she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and washed her hair, like her daily routine since she was young. It's just a Greer thing, she washed her hair after she woke up and later washed her full body after she ate, washed the dishes, or read a book.
After she's done in the bathroom and heard someone in the kitchen, she immediately went down there, expecting Lucy but this time, it's George and not Lucy.
"Where are they?" Greer asked George "Doing some case, Lockwood didn't get me enough time to research again." George complained as he frown "They didn't even wait for me to come back." He added, Greer can tell he sounded so annoyed "I'll talk to him." Greer sighed, she truly felt bad for George. Every time they solve a case, it's either Lockwood not giving him enough time to research or either leaves him if he's late. By their luck, they were able to come home after Lockwood didn't listen to George.
"No, you are not. Your conversation with him will end up bad all over again." He said as he shook his head "Thank you for being very optimistic, George." Greer said as she rolled her eyes "Very welcome." George replied, she doesn't know if he's being serious or sarcastic but that was at the bottom of her list of worries now. She's hungry "What's there to eat?" Greer asked the boy.
She can make herself an egg or a toast but she knows George cook something earlier or there's a leftover from earlier.
"There's a Spaghetti Bolognese there." He told the girl "Did you know that you're the best George?" Greer grinned as she asked "Yes." George nodded.
"Why didn't you tell me there's a case or even woke me up?" Greer asked as she sat down opposite of him, trying not to touch anything that he's reading that looks interesting "Lockwood said not to."
"That bastard." Greer muttered under her breath but it seems like George still heard her "He's worried about you, you know. We both are." As always, George always spoke what was on his mind and Greer love him for that "I know." Greer forced a smile.
"You still got us as always, Greer. You're not alone." George smiled as he stretched his one hand to tap Greer's "So I assume you heard me crying the other night?" Greer asked.
"Yeah, I went to the bathroom and saw that you left your shopping bags scattered on the ground so I went to pick them up but stop at the stairs when I heard you crying." George explained to her "Even though Lockwood didn't tell me why, I already knew." He added.
