Harrington felt exhausted,
as he sat next to Dustin. The overwhelming feeling had tangled into him since morning. Waking up to an empty house with no one. Not a place to go this Thanksgiving until his best friend invited him
to dinner.Steve was just trying to make the best of this shitty day. Regardless if he wasn't with his family, because who knows what fights would happen during dinner. The two boys were sitting in front of the tv with full bellies after what Claudia had cooked.
Some birds were heard chirping as the sun started to go down. Orange color flowed through the windows, meaning it would be dark soon, and the male would have to leave. Going back to the shell of a home Steve lived in.
The male felt somewhat better than earlier after spending the day with a friend, despite the weight of sadness still on his chest that made him feel insufferable.
At least he wasn't completely alone.
Dustin and him were sitting on the couch watching whatever was on. Claudia had already gone to bed feeling tired from all the turkey and other delicious sides they had eaten. So the two boys sat alone, talking now and then.
"I pretend not to care?" Dustin asks as they sit in the living room. "Even if I do?".
Steve ran a hand through his hair, "Exactly, it drives females nuts." He sighed, trying to give the kid the best relationship advice.
Dustin had never dated anyone before and had zero experience. But since Steve has, he thought asking about how to make a move would help. Even if what he was saying wasn't that good.
"Okay, after you all that, then you kiss her?", The boy said.
The older male shook his head, "No, whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down, Romeo". Dustin raised his eyebrows at his response, not knowing what else to do before making a move like that.
"Sure, okay, some girls, yeah, they want you to be aggressive. But others, you gotta be slow and stealthy, like a..like a ninja," Steve snapped his fingers together as he continued to talk.
Dustin didn't seem to understand anything he was being told. Ignoring his crush didn't make sense because how would that help? But his friend did have more experience, so he listened rather than question it.
"Well, what about your friend?" Dustin asked.
"Who?"
"Vanessa," he added. "What type is she?"
A pause stayed between them as Steve looked down at his hands. He was stuck on the question. It wasn't a bad thing, but Ness was hard to read. The male couldn't figure her out; maybe that's why he was so interested in getting to know her. More or so because she wasn't like anyone he had met before.
