Iron Maiden

played as Eddie sat at the bar. Foot tapping to the music, with a beer in his hand. He had just finished a show at the Hideout. But Corroded Coffin wasn't doing great, with only five drunks appreciating the music.

All three boys were waiting for Vanessa to pick them up because she needed the van. Eddie and her fought all morning until they came to an agreement about it. But the male was still wondering who she kept hanging out with.

Ness either got picked up or took the van somewhere other than work. Though, he never could get a glimpse of who was taking her out. She was also talking to Eddie a lot more.  Not that it was a problem, but Vanessa was happier lately. It was weird.

"Where's Ness?" Gareth said, plopping down next to the boy.

Eddie shrugged, "Who knows."

Vanessa was running a little late but the metalhead knew his sister had to be somewhere. She could be anywhere for that matter. Eddie was close to calling home but knew there wouldn't be an answer. Most that they could do was wait.

Gareth huffed, "She's never around anymore, huh?"

"You're telling me," Eddie replied. "Ness is so secretive about everything.  I don't even know who she is right now."

But maybe it was okay that Eddie didn't know. People grow and seem unrecognizable. There wasn't anything terrible about that. Vanessa was finding herself, really finding out who she was and not holding back any longer.

For so long, the girl shut everyone out. Barley went out and made friends. Now, that has changed.

"Steve, come on," Vanessa laughed, pulling him into the bathroom. The male nagged her, not knowing if this was a good idea. He agreed to it, yet now Steve wasn't sure.

Once they went inside, purple hair dye was in a small bowl, along with towels and gloves. Ness had told him a couple of days ago she wanted to add highlights at the ends of her hair again. Steve said he would also add it to his hair so she didn't feel left out.

She had already mixed everything and set it all up. The male beside her listened as Vanessa told him what he had to do.

"It's simple, really," Ness explained, moving her hands around.

Steve smiled, watching his best friend ramble on and on, mentioning how purple is a better color than what she first chose. It matched well with her hair and the male's.

They had just got back from the store not too long ago since Steve needed help with food shopping. After Christmas, his parents left for another business trip the father was required to attend. So, again, Steve was alone.

But this time, it didn't feel like that, with Vanessa attached to his hip since then. They were either  talking on the phone, at the mall, or staying at his house late at night.
