Time,

moved slowly as Vanessa sat in detention. Her knee bounced up and down anxiously, staring at the clock on the wall. This was her final day of staying after school in this hell hole. Also, happy that there would be two weeks without this place.

Every day after school consisted of her sitting here doing nothing. The two books she was reading were already finished having so much time. Detention was a drag, and Ness couldn't wait to be done with this hell.

Steve would be picking her up soon, and thankfully her brother wasn't stuck in detention today. If Eddie were, she would've declined Harrington's offer.

Though it did suck, she hid her friendship this way. But it was for Steve's safety. Because who knows what Eddie would do if he found out his little sister was hanging out with Steve Harrington.

"You're good to go, Munson," Mrs.Wilson finally said, making Ness sign in relief.

She smiled, "See you in a couple of weeks."

Vanessa gathered all her things. Putting away her notebook and walkman. Detention could get pretty dull after a while. She was usually all alone unless Eddie was in there keeping her company.

Lately, he's been doing good and not getting into trouble. It was weird, but at least he was doing better.

"Oh, I almost forgot," The lady said as Ness got up to leave. "The field trip is the day we come back to school."

The blonde girl furrowed her eyebrows, "I..uh, wasn't able to pay for it.". Remembering the letter sent out a few weeks ago, but it was way too expensive for her uncle to pay for. So, she was going to just going to have to deal with not going.

Mrs. Wilson hummed, "Well, your fees were paid for a couple of days ago."

Confusion clouded her mind. How could that have happened? Money was pretty tight at the moment, and she knew her uncle was saving for all the bills. It couldn't have been him.

"They were?" she asked, and the lady nodded with a big smile. Telling Ness what she needed to bring and when to be at school. The trip was a huge deal to most people, but the girl didn't seem to care for it.

Although, it would be fun to be around Steve and Robin during that time.

Vanessa just listened until exiting the class. She was stumped on who could've paid for the trip. After all, the girl knew she didn't have much money, mainly where her family lived. But Ness hated when people did this "charity" stuff for her. She was pretty capable of doing it herself.
