"You're going to break them,"

Vanessa said to Eddie as he juggled two Christmas ornaments in his hands. Every year he does the same shit and always says nothing will happen to the decorations.

"Am not," he pressed before one slipped out of his hands. The curly-haired boy was quick to grab it before looking back at Ness.

She raised an eyebrow, "told you."

Rolling his eyes, the male placed one of the red balls onto the tree. They had just bought one with Wayne this morning since he actually had off for once in his life. Their uncle worked hard, especially during the holidays, knowing he wanted to get his kids some gifts this year.

Wayne was at least wanting to get them each something they would like. The two teens weren't expecting anything and didn't mind if all they got was socks. It's the thought that counts.

"Do you two ever get along?", The elderly man said as he returned with another box from the truck.

"No," they said in unison.

He just huffed before placing it on the counter, "Maybe that could be my Christmas gift this year. So you wouldn't keep driving me crazy."

Vanessa shook her head, picking out some tinsel from one of the boxes. She never really was into the whole Christmas thing, but it was pretty fun this year. Plus, finding all the old ornaments reminded her of many good memories.

As Ness looked through everything, her eyes landed on something at the bottom. A photo came clearly into view, making the girl smile as she read it.

Eddie and Vanessa 1980

This had to be when the teens were already moved in with Wayne because Eddie's hair was finally growing back. It was still short, but not as much as it used to be before that. She hated that their father wasn't a fan of his hair, even if it suited the boy.

Vanessa's looked over seeing a big smile on the little girl she once was. Something that seemed to fade away after all these years. Due to her inability to get close to anyone. She couldn't help but feel sad staring at her younger self. Looking at how much joy and happiness she used to have.

But it seemed to be slowly coming back now.

"Ness," the girl heard, making her look up. Eddie stood there with some pine needles in his hair and more ornaments in his hands.

He smiled, "The least we could do is get along, right?"

Vanessa stood at her brother for a moment before nodding, "Right. Shithead."
