Coming back home
to Hawkins was weird. Nothing seemed to have changed while Vanessa looked out the window. It was all the same. She felt at peace to be back here. Even though it wasn't the best place.
Steve and Vanessa left the motel once the roads were cleared up, happily ready to get back. But sticking together made them even closer. She would gladly get stuck with the male again.
"I'll call you," Steve said as Vanessa hopped out of the car.
She smiled, "You better."
The chestnut-haired male chuckled before handing her the belongings from the car. She thanked him and headed towards the trailer.
Vanessa had to remind him she would be out with Robin tonight. The two girls haven't had a girls' night in a while. It was needed. So if she didn't answer the phone, it was because they were at The Hideout.
He had never been there. Steve usually just did other things or would hang out with Dusty. Those two definitely could not go into a bar together.
But Steve knew what place to call if she was still there with Robin later.
Ness turned, giving him a little wave, before going inside. He waited till she was safely in until finally pulled out of the trailer park. He didn't want to leave, though all Steve kept thinking about was their date tomorrow.
As Vanessa opened the door, she thought no one would be home until she saw someone sitting on her couch.
"Robin?" Vanessa questioned.
She jumped up from the couch, "Oh my god, you're alive."
The strawberry-blonde ran over, pulling her in the tightest hug. Robin knew you guys were stuck because she was the only person Steve called. He told her everything that was happening.
And she was not calm about it, at all.
"I thought you guys were dead," She said, pulling back to look behind her. "Where's dingus?"
Vanessa laughed, "Steve went home."
Not that his house was actually a home, but it was at least something for him. She hated to be away from him tonight. However, she wouldn't tomorrow.
As Steve drove home, he thought about plans for their date tomorrow. He had some ideas already. It was their first official one, and he wanted to make sure it was memorable.
