TBBATER- Chapter Twenty-Seven: Greene Vs Red
My phone vibrates on the beside table beside my bed and lights up the room slightly. I can see that the time is roughly around 3 in the morning, and I press the answer button before bringing it to my ear.
"Hello." I grumble tiredly.
"Lucy!" My mother exclaims excitedly and a bit too loudly into the phone, "I miss you so much! Sorry about calling you at this time, but I'm busy at any other time. It's eight back here in England."
Good for them, I think, and I rub my eyes, then sit up, wishing my mother hasn't called me at this time. Sometimes I wonder whether my mother was dropped on her head as a child or was born crazy. My mother can be normal at some points in my life, but in others, she's nutty in the head.
"It's okay. Why are you calling?" I mumble, and she just about hears me through the phone, and I can hear her giggle to herself. She's definitely either had alcohol or some sort of drink containing caffeine. I guess that the second option is more likely and the drink is most probably going to be coffee. My mother drinks tea usually, and whenever she has coffee, she goes even crazier than she actually is.
"Am I not allowed to call my darling daughter?" She gasps, and I roll my eyes.
"Yes, you can, and why are you calling really?" I reply.
"I've just run into Kelly Alois, you know her, the kind lady who used to pay Lukas and you for looking after her children after school. The lady who had that really nice son, what's his name...oh yes! George Michael Alois! Yes, anyway, it turns out her husband has taken over some new business that you won't have heard of back here in London, and your father and I have decided to stay a little while longer to sort things out! We are sending Laya back with Elizabeth, Amelia and Harvey and they shall arrive tomorrow or the day after. I'd like you to stay with the Samsons for a little longer as I can see you and the rest of your gang enjoy being there all together!"
My mother has always loved to ramble on. That she has done in quite a bit of my life. I'd say three quarters.
"Umm... okay, can-"
"Oops! I've got to go! I don't want to phone bills to go out of the window! You know how they are! They'll cost a ton! Bye, Lucy! Love you!"
"Love you, too-"
I almost finish my sentence, but my mother hangs up, leaving me lying down with my face buried in my pillow in a stressed manner. I remember George to be Kelly's attractive son who was in the year above Lukas and I. He was mysterious, but I always ignored him because Lukas disliked him and didn't want me to be near him. The boy who should've been good for me was disliked by my older brother but the boy who was bad to me without my brother knowing was liked my brother. I was naive back then, and I guess I still am in some cases.

"I don't even know why you like that crap, Luce, seriously, like listen to pop music. You've got Iggy Azalea! She's amazing!" Ari rambles on beside me and Keeley rolls her eyes whilst we walk to our lockers.
"My Chemical Romance is not crap. They are amazing. I love them so much. And Iggy can't even rap for God's sake! If you want a proper rapper hire Eminem or Skepta or something. And Led Zeppelin is one of the best old rock bands out there! I'd love to play the guitar like they do in some of their songs!" I argue, and Ari crosses her arms stubbornly then pouts.
"That is...whatever. And who is Skepta?" Ari replies, a confused look on her face.
"He's a rapper. Check him out." I tell her with a wink and then grin, "Oh look! Our lockers!"
