"Miss, sorry I'm late." I gasp as I get into my first class, which I am late for. My mum didn't tell me she couldn't take me so I had to run to school in fifteen minutes. More like hobble because of my foot.
"I'm sorry, Lucy Edwards, but being late isn't tolerated at this school. Detention!" Miss Robinson says.
"But, miss," I protest, "I hurt my foot yesterday, and I was meant to be dropped off but I couldn't so I had to try and run to school."
The class laugh.
"No excuses, Miss Edwards! Detention!" Miss Robinson says, and I walk out. I don't even know where the detention room is?!
I walk along, and see Lukas. I glare at him, and he looks shocked. I walk past him, and come across a teacher.
"Do you have a hall pass?" He says.
"No, I don't know where the detention room is and-" I say.
"Go straight ahead, not the first room on the left, but the second one." He says, and I thank him. As quickly as I can, I limp over to the detention room, only to be greeted by the devil himself.
"English Redhead, I'm sorry for yesterday." He says, when sit down in a chair as far away from him as possible after grabbing a detention slip.
Did he just apologise? Did the Bad Boy apologise to me, an English Redhead?
I think he just did.
"Yeah, well I don't care." I say as coldly as possible.
"What happened to your foot?" He asks.
"I stepped on broken glass." I reply and fill out my detention slip.
He realises I am not in the mood to talk to him so he falls silent.

"Why did you punch him?" Keeley asks, when I sit down at lunch with them.
"Because he nearly let me drown and I warned him if he kept on calling me English Redhead, I would punch him." I answer.
"Did you take fighting classes?" Ari questions, and I nod.
"Boxing, taekwondo, and kickboxing." I say.
"Well, I'm never going to get on your bad side. But anyway, since us girls are all together, on Saturday we are going to the mall." She grins, and Keeley and I smile back.
"I don't think my mum will let me you know... because of my foot." I say.
"Oh, well. We'll leave without you, and try the best doughnuts in the world which are warm from the oven..." Keeley trails off, persuading me.
"Okay, they better be the best." I say, and look around. The two Queen Bees are heading over towards us.
"I heard you punched Matt." Whitney says.
"Yeah, I did." I reply.
"Well, leave him alone, you bullying bitch." Whitney snaps.
"Excuse me." She has irritated me and I will not hesitate to embarrass her, "You think I'm the bully? Well, bullies are people like you who call people rude names for no reason."
"Well, you punched Matt for no reason." She protests.
"I did have a reason, actually. I was thrown into his pool and I can't swim. So, I nearly drowned. I punched him because he nearly killed me." I spit, and she huffs.
"Just because you think you're all cool because you've got your best friends and your brother is popular, it doesn't mean I can't ruin your life, ginger slag." Whitney snarls.
