Here I am, nine A.M. sharp. I sighed. I still couldn't get over the fact that Xander agreed for this girl to stay with us. Honestly, I was still mad that he didn't tell me earlier. I mean, first the case of Anna, then Jake dealing with it instead of me, and now this?! It makes me wonder if there are any more things he hasn't told me.
Speaking of Xander, I hadn't spoken to him since last night. I haven't even seen him since last night because I was avoiding him. I know ashe's Right Hand, I'm not supposed to. But can you blame me? With all the stuff he's kept from me, as his girlfriend, I have the freaking right to be pissed.
I was quickly pulled out of my thoughts when I noticed a flashy blonde in front of me.
"Hi Eva," McKenzie said cheerily.I ignored her greeting and replied coldly.
"Get in the car."
"Geez , not even a hi?" I kept silent. Once she got seated, I started the car and we drove off. The car ride was quiet, a comforting silence for me, but for McKenzie, not so much.
"So........Eva, how's everything going? You know it's been a long time since we had a chat," McKenzie said trying to start a conversation.
"That's funny. I don't remember having any interest in talking to you after the stunt you pulled," I said, gripping the steering wheel tightly.
And there you go, Eva. Reopening dried-up wounds. When we got to the highway, the traffic lights turned red, So I pulled the car to a stop. McKenzie kept silent after that and so did I. To be honest, I wasn't in the mood to bring up the past. Keeping silent was the best choice at the moment, but not for McKenzie, cuz' when she spoke I got irritated at what she said.
"Look Eva, I know I messed up. I broke you and Ralph's trust. Ralph especially. I hurt him. I messed up I know. I'm sorry. But I was hoping to make it up to you during my stay here," My knuckles turned white from how tight I held the steering wheel. This bi**h was starting to annoy me.
"Eva please listen to-" I cut her off.
"No, you listen. Do you think I give a damn about your apology? I honestly don't. Neither do I give a heck about whatever reason it is you have, to have come back. I know Ralph may forgive you, but I won't. To me, you're a pretentious, traitorous, deceiving bi**h!" McKenzie flinched at my last sentence and Immediately kept silent. The traffic light changed green and I sped off towards the mansion.
Once we arrived at the mansion, I got out of the car and walked to the house. When I walked into the living room, across me were seated Xander and Justin. Who seemed to be having a conversation, cause when I came in, they stopped and looked at me. I scoffed and was ready to walk away when Justin yelled my name.
"What?" I asked irritated.
"Geez calm down," he approached me.
"I just got back and you haven't even welcomed me or at least hugged me. It's been weeks babe~," He smiled.
"Not in the freaking mood Justin," I said.
"Damn, and Xander said you missed me," he looked over my shoulder and his eyes widened in shock.
"McKenzie?" I turned to see her walk into the living room.
"Hi Justin," she said shyly. Xander approached us and gave McKenzie a welcoming smile.
"Hello McKenzie, long time no see. How was your trip?" McKenzie smiled sweetly.
"Hello Xander. It was good, thank you," I hadn't noticed I had been glaring at her, until she looked at me and immediately looked down. Xander seemed to have noticed, and a slight frown appeared on his lips. He looked at the both of us and sensed the tense atmosphere. His frown deepened.
"McKenzie, why don't you go to my office? I'll see you in a bit," she nodded and walked away. I scoffed.
"Eva-," I heard Xander say, before I walked away.
