I felt a cold bucket of water splash on me and I slowly opened my eyes. I tried to sit up, but the banging in head refused me to. I placed my hand on the back of my head, realizing I was bounded.

"What the...?" I pulled the metal chains and turned to the person in front of me.

"Good morning, Sleepyhead," My eyes widened. I immediately saw red when I looked at the person on other than Jake.

"You asshole," I sneered. Jake frowned, scoffing.

"Careful, Sweetheart. I'm not suppose to hurt you. That head injury was bad enough. Had you sleeping for two days," Jake cackled. I glared at him.

Are you kidding me? Again?!

Wait. Head injury?  I remembered being hit at the back of the head. I gasped.

"You bastard, what did you do to Ralph? Why did you kill my gang, you monster? Why!?" I squirmed aggressively.

"Answer me, traitor!" Jake sneered and pulled me by hair.

"Argh," I cried out feeling the pain plus the headache topple over by ten.

"You've got some nerve talking to me like that, Eva. Especially when I'm gonna be your new boss soon," I glared at him.

"Screw you," I spat on him. He let go me and punched my face. I fell to the floor, my right cheek feeling numb. I painfully got up.

"Now, now, now, Jake. That's not right. You should never hit a lady. Especially not your future toy," a familiar man walked inside the room.

"At least not yet," I glared at him.

"Charles," He smiled.

"Lovely to see you again, Eva. Except, last time, you weren't coated in your own blood and chained to the wall," He joked.

"You won't get away with this. Xander will kill you," He hummed in amusement.

"Xander? Oh right, I almost forgot about him. Silly me," Charles laughed. He gazed at me with cold eyes.

"I wonder what Xander will do if he found out I have you in my custody?"  I struggled once more to break free, but Jake held me.

"Sleep tight, Eva. We'll wake you up in the morning," I felt him insert something in my neck and before I could blink, I fell asleep.

"Hello?"

"Eva," I gapsed.

"Xander? Why the heck haven't you been answering my calls?" I asked angrily.

"My apologies, Mia amore. I was worried my phone would get traced," I paused.

"Oh," I said, facepalming myself for being such an idiot.

"Eva, are you there?"

"Yeah, I'm here,"

"Listen, honey. There's not much time left, but Ralph is alive and he's in Italy," I froze in shock.

"What?"

"I promise I'll explain everything to you when I get back. Just stop digging onto Anna's case," I furrowed.

"Why?"

"Please, Eva. There are things I can't tell you now, but-,"

"Like her relationship with your mom? And that your mom was with two men that hate each other? That she was married to your dad?" Xander stayed silent.

"You think I'm dumping this case because your scared Charles will come after me? Well I'm not,"

"I'm not giving up until I find out what evidence Anna Cain has on you," I said determined. Xander sighed.

"You already know too much anyway. Not to mention your stupidly stubborn," I smiled.

"That's why you love me,"

"I do baby. I really do. Just promise you won't go dying on me,"

"I promise, if you promise not to die first,"

"I promise,"
