Eva's POV

Flashback

"Don't worry, Eva. After I kill you, I kill myself. That way, we'll still be together," I shrunk deeper to the ground sticking my hand out to the person that pointed the gun at me.

"Victor stop. Please don't do it," I sobbed with pleas. I laid on the floor completely vulnerable. Helpless, and weak.

I closed my eyes, but I didn't feel the bullet pierce my skin. Instead, I heard a thud beside me.

"Eva!" I looked at the woman in black tight clothes. She rushed to me and hugged me.

"Mommy, I'm scared," I cried.

"Listen to me sweety. Promise me you'll never let anyone do that to you again. Promise me when you get older, you'll be so strong you'll never let anyone pull a trigger at you."

End of Flashback

"Eva!" I pulled back to my senses when Edward squatted in front of me. I looked at gum, then turned to the man who laid on the floor, dead. The same person that stood before me, with a gun at my face.

Because I was weak. I clenched my jaw. Edward help me up.

"What are you doing here? I told you to hide," I turned to him, remembering why I was here.

"Do you know the room McKenzie stayed in when she was little?"

"What? No. I didn't know McKenzie had room here in the first place. But there is a room Charles kept off limits. What does that have to do with you hiding?"

"Someone tried to escape from here. I think it was Cyrina," He frowned.

"Listen, Eva. Charles is on his way. We have to go," I shook my head.

"There's something here that could tell us what happened to her, or at least tell us where to find her. We have to get to that room," Edward contemplated for a while.

"Fine, but we have to hurry. The guards are looking for you. If they spot us, we're dead," I nodded. We quietly passed through the hallway. We were careful not to come across any guards.

"Well? Why next?" Edward asked once we made it inside. I ignored him and looked around the room in bewilderment.

This was where Cyrina was contained?

The room was chaotic. The bed was messed up, and the pillows were ripped to shreds. There were broken chairs, portraits, vases and more, scattered around the room. I walked in further.

Was this where she was contained all those years? What did Charles do to her?

"Did Charles come here often?"

"Not really. No one's been in this room since I started working for him."  I suddenly felt a presence beside me. I turned. At the corner of the room, sat a skeleton in a puddle of blood. I jumped back in shock.

Who is this?  Edward approached the body. His face held anger and pain.

"Was this someone you knew?"

"Samantha Clawn. Don of the Underdogs."

Underdogs?  "And Charles mother," I froze.

"Charles mother? Are you sure?"

"Look at her neck." I noticed the red ruby medallion that hung on her neck.
