Joel's hands slid behind Sophie's neck and rested his thumbs in-front of her ears, his eyes bore holes straight through her own and into her soul. He parted his lips in the smallest action, breathing rugged breathes when Sophie felt a pang in her chest. She couldn't keep herself from falling for him, right then and there. She grabbed the shirt around his waist tightly and that was all Joel needed to indicate this was okay. That she was giving him permission.
His lips came crashing down on hers like a starved beast. He held her head firmly as he formed his lips to hers and she let him. A small inclination of his tongue ran across her bottom lip and it shot electricity down her spine. Without thinking she pulled herself closer to him, closing the gap between their bodies. The movement felt so necessary to Sophie at the time, but it caused Joel to stumble forward, unable to catch his balance because of his injury.
They both tumbled, Sophie's back hitting the wall with a thud, and Joel caught himself from crashing into her with both his hands on either side of her head. She quickly scanned his face, making sure he was okay. He seemed to be doing the same thing because he gave her a toothy grin before going back in for another kiss.
Sophie smiled into the kiss and grabbed his collar, losing herself in the passion they were sharing. He attempted to move his hands but stumbled again, breaking the kiss.
"Damn it." He cursed under his breath. Sophie put a gentle hand on the side of his face, giving him a reassuring look and he leaned into her hand for a second before his eyes shot up, giving her another intense stare. He pushed himself away from her and limped his way to the door frame. He turned and grabbed Sophie's hand, dragging her with him as she giggled. He limped to the couch and pulled her onto it before placing himself over her. Sophie rang out in giddy laughter, both out of nervousness and excitement.
He seemed to be having just as good of a time because he joined in, their voices filling the room. Not wanting the feeling to end, Sophie reached up and snaked her fingers into his hair, pulling him down to her face. He stopped right above her, noses with just a sliver of space between them.
"Sophie." He whispered. His breath was hot and smelled like a hint of liquor and it seemed to breath life into her. It had been so long since she heard someone speak her name. Her breath hitched and she felt a pool of tears nearing the edges of her eyes. Joel soaked in her expression and leaned down, kissing the corner of her right eye, trailing kisses around her face before landing right over her lips. "Sophie." He whispered again.
The atmosphere had changed completely, from light and fun to intensely romantic. Sophie fluttered her eyelids closed and felt him adjust his body to a more comfortable position before feathering a small kiss on her lips. His beard tickled her nose and chin and she chased the feeling. They locked into a long, passionate kiss, giving Sophie time to really feel Joel.
His body was toned, covered in scars that she could feel through the thin button up he had on. His weight felt heavy enough to engulf her but not crush her. It was comforting, made her feel safe and warm. She moved her hands over his arms and sides, wanting to mentally map every part of him. Feeling satisfied of touch, she rested her hands on his forearms, taking in all that he would allow her.
He pulled away with such reluctance that his breath in was sucked through his teeth, like he was punishing himself. His deep brown eyes were nearly impossible to read in the almost near darkness of the room. But Sophie could feel the emotions pouring out.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting to do this." His statement sounding strained and out of breath. Sophie listened completely, slightly licking her kiss swollen lips. "I have very little restraint right now. But I'm not going to move further if you don't want this, Sophie." His words unraveled something in her that she had been keeping away for a long time. Her name rolling off his tongue like a song.
