Part 15:- (Loneliness kills people)

When the police officers left Manik opened the door and asked them to come out. They came out of the room and said,

"Is he gone?"

"Yes. What was the need to marry each other secretly? You could have told dad. He would have talked to her parents."

Before Dhruv could say something Aliya said,

"Actually Bhai was forcing me to marry his best friend Shahid. My parents also didn't listen to me for once. That's why we had to get married secretly."

At that time Raj came there and said,

"The police commissioner has called me. What happened here?"

Manik immediately said,

"Your son got married. Congratulate him."

"Which one?"

"What do you mean by which one?"

"For your kind information I have five sons. How would I know which one got married and whom should I congratulate?"

"How could you act so dumb in a serious situation?"

Manik held Dhruv and dragged him in front of him and and said,

"This one. Your youngest son got married to his girlfriend Aliya secretly. When her brother got to know that he came here with his men and did all this. Now handle the situation."

As the police officer said, the matter wasn't solved there. Harshad and his men attacked Dhruv but Manik saved him. Then Raj decided to send them to Paris otherwise this matter won't be solved anytime soon. He didn't need to think about Manik. He was black belt in karate and can easily beat forty or fifty people all alone.

Two year later

Arya completed his internship and went to Australia to pursue his FRCS degree. Cabir got engaged to Navya and shifted to Delhi with her. It's just Raj and Manik staying in that house but after that incident they don't talk to each other. Raj never thought that one by one everybody would leave the house and he would be all alone in this house. Abhi still works at Malhotra Industries. He often takes Raj to his penthouse and they both have a good time together. One day when they were talking about Dhruv, Abhi suddenly asked,

"Dad, how's Manik?"

"I don't know. After that day he never talked to me."

"He didn't talk to you but you also didn't try to talk to him once. Actually it's all my fault. I shouldn't have left the house for my wife. I know, I have hurt him a lot."

"No it's my fault. I have failed, I have failed miserably as a father."

Raj was holding his emotions for so long. He couldn't take it anymore and started crying badly. Abhi tried to console him but he was also feeling guilty.

At Night

Manik went out as he had a concert. Raj was all alone in the house. He had his dinner and when he was climbing the stairs suddenly he held the left side of his chest in pain and fell down from the stairs. He tried to call the servants of the house but they already went to the outhouse. Soon darkness engulfed his eyes. Manik entered the house at midnight and when he was going towards the stairs, he saw Raj lying on the floor. His head was bleeding. Maybe he got hit by a sharp corner while falling down from the stairs.

"Dad....dad what happened? Dad, please wake up."

He placed his hand on his shoulder and then only realized his body was cold as an ice slab. His eyes were closed and face was a bit distorted with pain. The sight sent a chill to Manik's bone marrow. He immediately called the driver to take out the car. Then he pulled Raj and took him to the hospital.

At Hospital

Manik was sitting out of the ICU palming his face when Abhi came there. Actually that doctor was their family friend. He called him and informed about his condition.

"How's dad?"

"Doctors said he had a mild cardiac arrest. They can't say anything until he regains his consciousness."

"Did you inform Cabir, Arya and Dhruv?"

"No. If you want you can inform them."

Abhi informed everyone. At morning Cabir reached the hospital said,

"How's he?"

"He is still unconscious."

"How's this happened? Did you talk to Manik?"

"He isn't talking to anyone but as far as I know he wasn't at home when this happened. He had a concert yesterday. Our servants were in the outhouse so they didn't hear anything. When he came home he saw him lying on the floor and immediately took him to the hospital."

"Did you inform Arya and Dhruv?"

"Arya is on the way. Dhruv and Aliya's flight got delayed so they won't be able to reach here soon."

"I am not feeling good for Manik. Seems like he is in a trauma. See he isn't even moving from his place."

"I know but what to do? After that incident he never talked to anyone. I am sure that incident left a scratch on his mind and now this incident happened."

"He used to come here for his therapy, right? Can we meet his therapist?"

"Good idea. Let's talk to her once."

They went to Nandini's cabin. Nandini listened to them and said,

"I can understand. It's not easy for anyone to see his father laying on the floor almost lifeless. He is going through a trauma and if can't talk to anyone he won't be able to vent out his emotions. He should talk about it."

"I am sure he won't talk to Arya. He might have talked to Dhruv but his flight got delayed. I don't know when he will reach here. Can you please try to talk to him once?"

"Okay, let me try."

Nandini pretended to be unaware of the situation and went in front of the ICU.

"Manik, what are you doing here?"

Nandini made an innocent face as if she just saw him here while passing through the corridor. Manik looked at her and said,

"My dad is admitted here."

"What happened to him?"

"He had a mild cardiac arrest."

Nandini sat beside him and kept her hand on his shoulder to console him.

"Don't worry, he will be alright."

"You know when he was having this attack nobody was at home, not even me. That's what I fear the most. This loneliness kills people from inside. When you know nobody won't stay with you forever then what's the use of keeping them with you? You should leave them all and get habitual to being alone."

"I told you once and still say nobody can predict the future. How can you be so sure that nobody will stay with you forever?"

"Then where are my brothers? Why aren't they with my dad now?"
