At Breakfast table

It was an awkward situation between Manik and Nandini. They both were trying to ignore each other which wasn't unnoticed by the Malhotra Brothers. Cabir was giving them a teasing smile where Abhi was glaring at him to stop this childish act. After having his breakfast Raj went to his study room. This man just can't sit idle for a long time. Abhi didn't stop him. At least he will be busy for sometime. Meanwhile they all sat in Abhi's room as they needed to discuss the current situation. Nandini said,

"Guys, don't you think it's useless to hide this news? How long would you hide it? Today or tomorrow he will get to know everything."

Manik immediately said,

"Dad's health isn't good. I don't think he can handle this news right now."

"But Manik, when he will get to know that you all hid this news from him, he will be hurt. He still has a chance to see her for the last time. If you hide it he will lose this chance and I don't think he will ever forgive you for this. Just think about it for once."

Saying this Nandini left the house. They all thought about it and Abhi said,

"I think she was right. If we tell dad, he can attend her funeral."

"We all know how much he loves her. When she left dad never got married again. Do you think he can handle it?"

"He is not alone. We all are here to take care of him. Moreover Nandini was right. We can't hide it from him. Today or tomorrow he will get to know everything. It's a very sensitive matter. I think we should tell him everything right now."

"Okay, let's go."

They all went to the study room and seeing them standing at the doorstep Raj said,

"Now don't tell me you had a fight and don't want to live under the same roof. Come on, you aren't kids anymore."

They all looked at each other. They couldn't decide who would tell him the truth. As an elder Abhi took this responsibility and sat on the floor near his chair.

"Dad, we have to tell you something."

"I am all ears."

"Ms. Neonika Gupta died in a road accident. Today is her funeral."

Raj was clever enough to understand everything. How the relationship between his sons suddenly became so sweet again and why they were breaking or spoiling things to keep him away from social media. They thought he couldn't handle this news but nothing such happened. Raj kept sitting on the chair for a few minutes then he said,

"Can you take me there? I want to see her for the last time and say goodbye forever."

"Sure. Arya, go and bring the car from the garage. Manik, as you are not feeling well stay at home and take a rest. "

Manik immediately said,

"No. I want to go."

"Okay."

They all went there and attended the funeral.

At Night

Manik was thinking about his mom. That woman left him but his father never let him feel the absence of a mother. If he was strict like a father then he also feed him lovingly just like a mother. Suddenly a dear of losing his father embraced him and he went to Raj's bedroom. Raj was reading a book, he was quite shocked to see him at this time and said,

"Manik, what happened? Aren't you feeling well? Should I call the doctor?"

"Can I sleep with you for tonight."

"Sure. Come here."

Manik laid down on the bed keeping his head on his lap. Raj ruffled his hair lovingly and said,

"Had a nightmare?"

"No."

"Then?"

"Do you remember when we were kids we used to fight with each other just to sleep with you?"

"Of course I remember."

At that time Abhi, Arya and Cabir came there and said,

"Aham aham aham. Are we missing something?"

Abhi sat on the keeping his head on Raj's shoulder when Cabir laid beside Manik but he pushed him away and said,

"Stay away, you are stinking."

Arya sat on the bed and said,

"Ewww, you sweat like a pig and stink like a rotten egg. I told you to take a bath."

"I can't take a bath twice in a day."

Cabir stood up and went to the dressing table. He took a perfume bottle and sprayed some perfume on his body. Then he again laid down on the bed and said,

"Now smell me. See, I am not stinking anymore."

That's it, Arya fell down from the bed. He got angry and said,

"Someone please throw this clown out of my room."

"Oh hello, that's my room too."

"Dad, I just can't live with him in the same room. I want a separate room now."

Raj laughed at them and said,

"You will get a separate room only when you will get married."

"You always take his side, that's not fair."

Arya laid on the bed keeping his head on Abhi's lap. Dhruv was passing by the room when he heard their voices. He also came inside the room and said,

"You guys are having a night out without me? How rude! Come on, make some space for me."

Dhruv was always pampered by Manik. So he literally pushed Cabir aside and made some space for him. Dhruv laid there and said,

"Dad, please tell us a story just like you used to tell us in our childhood."

"You guys aren't kids anymore."

Abhi smiled at his father and said,

"Kids never get older for their father. We are still your kids and we will always be your kids only."

Cabir said,

"Exactly, even if we have our own kids still we will be kids for you. Right guys?"

They all said together,

"Right."

Raj smiled at his sons who were behaving like small kids and demanding to hear a story from him. So he started telling the story,

"Many years ago there was a poor farmer who had five sons. Everyday his sons used to fight with each other. So one day he called his sons and gave one stick to each of them. Then he told them to break it. They broke the stick very easily. Then he gave five sticks to each of them and told them to break it. But this time they couldn't break those sticks. The farmer laughed at them and said, you all are like those sticks only. When you are alone, you are weak. People can harm you very easily but when you are together, you are stronger. People can't harm you. So what's the moral of the story?"

Cabir immediately said,

"It's okay to fight with each other but never leave each other."

That's it, all they started hitting him with a pillow. Somehow Raj stopped the fight and finally they all slept there only.

We all heard this story in our childhood but I am sure that we never tried this theory in our personal life. Don't forget that morals are equally important in our life.
Anyways, how's the update? Did you enjoy it? Please let me know your opinions by your comments and of course don't forget to vote.
