Part 24:- (After rejection)

Sangeet ceremony was about to end when Nandini got on the stage and took the mike,

"I have an important announcement for Mr. Manik Malhotra. Can you please come on the stage?"

Everybody was confused as well as Manik. Nandini was going to propose to him but he didn't have any idea about it. Only Mukti and Aliya knew everything so they pushed Manik on the stage and started cheering for them. When Manik looked at Nandini, she sat on her knees in front of him with a flower bouquet and said,

"I love you Manik."

First Manik was too shocked to respond then he said,

"Nandini I just consider you as my friend nothing else. I am sorry but I can't accept you."

Manik left the place. Nandini's heart broke in million pieces. Tears fall from her eyes. Mukti and Aliya immediately hugged her and started consoling her. Aliya said,

"He is such a stone hearted person."

Mukti agreed to her and said,

"Exactly. You shouldn't cry for that jerk."

Nandini whipped her tears and said,

"He is not a bad person. It's just he has trust issues."

"If he continues drowning in his past then he can never overcome from his trust issues. We have to do something."

"No Mukti. Let him realize on his own."

"Okay but what about you?"

"Time heals every pain."

Next day
At community center

Nandini's swollen and red eyes were clearly saying that she cried for the whole night. When Manik noticed that he said,

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

"But you don't seem to be okay."

"I am fine, Manik. Seriously nothing to worry about."

"I am really very sorry for yesterday."

"It's okay."

"I hope that incident won't affect our friendship. We are still friends right?"

"Of course."

"Thank God. I was thinking too much."

Nandini gave him a smile and focused on the wedding.

Few days later

Nowadays Nandini has started ignoring Manik. She doesn't pick his phone calls or meet him often which bothered him a lot. But he thought she might be busy. One day meet his friends at a restaurant when he saw Nandini with a man. He excused himself for a while and called Nandini. Nandini picked up the call and said,

"Manik, I am busy right now. I will call you later."

Manik felt bad but didn't say anything. He just left the place. Needless to say that she won't call him. She picked up his phone calls just for formality.

Next day
At shopping mall

Manik came to a shopping mall with his brothers and sister in law as they needed to buy some stuff for house decorations. Finally Malhotra Mansion isn't a house of bachelors so the ladies decided to do some changes. Manik isn't a shopping freak but he was also dragged by them to carry things. They were shopping when Mukti said,

"Hey, isn't that Nandini?"

She pointed towards Nandini who was walking and talking to a boy at a distance. Aliya also noticed them and said,

"Who's that man with her?"

"Maybe her boyfriend."

"Boyfriend? Seriously?"

"What is there to be surprised about? Can't she have a boyfriend?"

"Yes, she can. But isn't it too early to move on from someone?"

"Oh come on Aliya. Manik rejected her so why would she wait for him? In fact it's good for her to move on as soon as possible."

"You are right. Let's focus on our shopping."

All the while Manik was listening to them silently. When they entered another shop he took his phone and called Nandini. Nandini looked at her phone screen and maybe put it on silent mode then continued talking to that person. Manik wanted to ask her why she was ignoring him when she clearly said that they were still friends but he couldn't do it. If he does that everybody would say that he is jealous but why would he be jealous when he doesn't even love her. Manik thought to not disturb her and went away.

Few days later
At Malhotra Mansion

"Oh come on bro, it's a boys day out. You have to come with us."

Dhruv planned a boys day out and everybody agreed to him except Manik. He was having a bad headache today. But who cares? They literally dragged him with them to a cinema hall. There was a huge line at the food court. Arya said,

"Look at the crowd. I am not going to stand in line for popcorn."

Cabir immediately said,

"I am not going to enter the cinema hall without popcorn and cold drinks."

Abhi was already standing in line for movie tickets after scolding Dhruv for forgetting to book the tickets online. Now if they ask Dhruv to stand in line for popcorn he will definitely start shouting at them that's why they all looked at Manik helplessly. Manik got their intention and said,

"Okay fine. I am going."

Manik stood in line when he noticed that man he saw with Nandini that day buying popcorn and cold drinks. Manik looked around and noticed Nandini standing at a corner. That man went to her and they both entered the cinema hall. Manik also bought popcorn and cold drinks then they all entered the cinema hall.
