"Agent Black, wake up!"

"Huh?" I lifted my head off the side of the plane window, suddenly aware of the silence in place of the drone of the plane engine. "We're here" I heard Agent White say, but it wasn't until I looked out the window that I caught the full reality of what 'here' was. Forests stretched out on all sides of us, with snow-capped mountains in view on the horizon. Turning back to Agent White I breathed a "Wow" to which he just smiled and nodded "It is pretty here isn't it?" I nodded, exiting the plane and carefully letting myself down to the flower-covered ground. Agent White joined me on the side of the plane, and we both stood back as it flew off, leaving us somewhat stranded on the ground. The plan was, that we would find the mansion using the coordinates that Agent 9 had provided, break in, take down the target (but not kill him as we needed them for information), and take the target to a river where a boat would be waiting to take us down the river to the plane that would take us home. It was a simple plan, and we had all we needed to carry it out, but planning it was one thing, actually doing it was another.

Agent White pulled out the navigator and we both leaned over it trying to figure out where we were. "Ah! I found it!" Agent White said, tapping a spot on the device, then pointing in the direction we had to go. "Are you sure about this?" I asked, crossing my arms and lifting an eyebrow as Agent White started moving in the direction he had pointed. He stopped and looked back, looking at the navigator again, he nodded "Yes, I'm sure. Don't make me overthink this" I shrugged "Ok, if you get us lost, I have a gun, and am fully capable of using it" Agent White's eyes widened "Did you just threaten to kill me if we..."

"Yes, yes I did," I said smugly

"Wow, ok, I'll make a note of that for future reference"

As we carefully tracked through the forest, Agent White seemed deep in thought. I chuckled to break the silence "I didn't think my threat would go that deep"

"What? Oh, no, I was just thinking of my parents"

"Oh, you said your father disappeared when you were 18, what about your mother?"

"Eh, she was an amazing woman, but you know, work takes her away a lot, and when I say a lot, I mean a LOT"

"Does she work in the Mafia too?"

Agent White shook his head, but said nothing else, leaving me to wonder for a few minutes before he spoke up again "If you know her at all, you know her by the name 'Agent 22'" I suddenly stopped short "Agent 22!" I almost shrieked "Shush! And yes"

"Woah! But... she's an agent for the CIA?"

Agent White frowned "How do you know that?" I rolled my eyes "Please, as I kid I thought agents were the coolest people on the earth. But I couldn't go outside much, so I read every book I could find on them, and in one of my books, I found out about one of the CIA's best agent, Agent 22. It never mentioned her being married, or having a kid" Agent White was silent for a few moments before he said, almost in a whisper "That's because they kept their relationship under wraps. An agent in the Mafia and an agent in the CIA is a complicated mix, if the Mafia ever found out, Mother and I would be hunted" I stopped walking and lowered my eyes "I guess it would be. But the CIA is trying to take down the Mafia and visa versa, why would they betray their allegiance?" Agent White shrugged "Love does crazy things to people, that's all I can say" "Yeah" Was all I could muster as we continued.

As we walked I got lost in thought about my one life, growing up with parents in the agent business was never easy, and I rarely got to go outside, for fear someone would recognize me. "Stop!" Before I even knew what was happening, I felt myself pushed to the ground and watched as a light swept over where we had just been standing. I had been so absorbed in my thoughts, I hadn't even noticed that night was crawling in, or that we had reached the mansion where our target was staying. But I had bigger problems, such as a 5'11, guy with dark brown wavy hair and brown eyes on top of me, showing no signs of moving. Agent White had raised himself to scope the land and make sure the light was gone, but his hands with still on my shoulders, keeping me pressed to the ground. Clearing my throat, I brought his attention back to me. I raised an eyebrow at him and it took a moment, but he looked down and then looked back at me with a half-shocked face. Instead of moving, he just sat there frozen, mouth opened a bit. I sighed and glared at him, cutting him out of his trance. He suddenly jerked back, red creeping up on his cheeks as he mumbled "Sorry" and scrambled up.

Restraining a laugh at his bright red cheeks, I managed to get up as well, and dust myself off, joining him behind some bushes, the only thing in between us and a large open area that was swept with a light every 30 seconds. I groaned "They didn't say..."

"They did in the clipboard, and if you had read it, you would have known..."

"Ok!" I growled. Then sighed and turned back to him "Well, if you have known that there were these lights, did you make a plan?"

"That was on the clipboard too. Seriously, did you read any of it?"

"I did about the part that if my partner doesn't shut up and tell me the plan I'm going to finish the mission by myself"

Agent White rolled his eyes and pointed up and to the side. I followed his finger until I could see a nice-sized raise in the land. When I looked back, Agent White had pulled out our ziplines and was grinning in triumph. I made a disgusted sound and crossed my arms "Why didn't you lead up to the rise in the first place?"

"Because I wanted to make sure that we were going in the right direction"

"You doubted it!?"

"Hey! I was 95% sure. Besides, you made me overthink it"
