Lan Xichen, Lan Qiren, and Lan Lijun soon arrived to the Jingshi as they wanted to know Wei Wuxian's story.

"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you Qingheng Jun," Wei Wuxian greeted with a bow.

Lan Lijun stopped him midway, "no need for formalities. As my future son in law, I would hope you can call me Fuqin someday."

Wuxian smiled, "really? F-Fuqin?"

"Of course," Lan Lijun said, "now, can I get a proper look at you?"

Wei Wuxian was a bit confused but stood up properly and allowed Lijun look Wei Wuxian over. As if he was checking every little detail of him out. He then realized, as Lijun said before, he knew his parents. Was he looking for similarities?

"You are as tall as your father, you have his nose, but everything else you look like your mother. Her silver eyes and she too, had a bunny smile. She has a heart of gold but drove my brother crazy with her pranks," Lijun said.

"That explains why Grandmaster Lan says I am a troublemaker like her," Wuxian said, "but did I do something specifically that made him think I am a troublemaker?"

"Did you shave his beard?" Lijun asked.

"What?" Wuxian asked and leaned in to whisper, "did my mother really shave his beard?"

"She did, did you?" He asked.

"No...I did not...it's smart though," Wuxian said, "he'd look so young and fresh."

"Wei Ying," Wangji said.

"Huh?" Wuxian asked, "What?"

"Behave," Wangji said.

"Did I do anything?" Wuxian asked.

Wangji shook his head.

"So we came here to listen to you, to know what you went through with the Jiangs," Lan Xichen said.

"Ugh," Wuxian sat back down beside Wangji, "I could say a lot but I don't know what to say specifically."

"Just say what you feel comfortable with," Lijun said, "how old were you when your parents died and when you moved to Lotus Pier?"

"I am not sure on how old I was specifically, but I think I was four," Wuxian replied, "and I was staying at an inn when my parents disappeared. I was kicked out a couple days later and lived on the streets for a long time. I think Jiang Fengmian said I was nine by the time he took me in. I remember looking for clothes, food, water, I was even running from wild hounds, which is now my fear, a fear of dogs. Jiang Fengmian got rid of Jiang Cheng's dogs because of this and Jiang Cheng was so angry with me. He hated me for a long time...and I had to share a room with him.

Eventually his mother got her way and had me move to a different room that was closer to the servants quarters. I would have to work with them, learn to clean, cook (he can cook in this story), and look after Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli. Madam Yu was furious when she found out I had developed a golden core, especially before her son. I am older than him so it made since if I did. She used Zidian on me for the first time because of that...I didn't even train or meditate like other disciples. It was because of cleaning and cooking and doing manual labor around Lotus Pier that helped me develop my core. That is what the healers said.

The current head disciple at the time was very nice and helped to secretly train me properly as he knew my father. Jiang Fengmian also asked the disciple to help me. Madam Yu eventually found out but she didn't do anything. She just made sure that Jiang Cheng trained harder. She compared him to me all the time.

She hated that I mastered the six arts so quickly and so easily. I once talked back to her saying my mom was Cangse Sanren and she was related to Baoshan Sanren. I had her blood which was why I train so well. She was so angry that she struck me with Zidian in front of a dozen disciples.."

Wei Wuxian parted his robes and showed his chest and abdomen showing a long scar from the left side of his chest to the right side of his lower abdomen. It was a scar left by Zidian, "this was what I received that day. I don't know why but I took all of her punishments and whips as a way to build a pain tolerance and it helped strengthen my spiritual essence and abilities. It only made me stronger. She is jealous of me and that's her reason for her hatred towards me...she also believes I am the illegitimate child of Jiang Fengmian and my mother which is why he favored me over his own son...which isn't true."

The Lans were horrified. They never expected a woman to be so blinded by hatred and jealousy that she would abuse a child for it. Wei Wuxian never grew up with his parents and he gained his cultivation on his own. He didn't train like most cultivators but he is now one of the most successful cultivators in the cultivation world.

"With whatever those boys say, we will not let happen. We will listen with open minds and not blame you for anything as it hasn't happened yet. As for your current situation, we will help protect you from the Jiang's. They will have to face the consequences of abusing a disciple for so many years. Not even a simple servant has ever been treated to such an extent," Lijun said, "also try to stick close to Wangji. I am sure he will do what he can to protect you. If you wish to learn anything about cultivation, we can help you more."

"Actually," Wuxian said taking out a black bamboo flute from his sleeve, "this was actually my father's and I have been learning to play it slowly but I haven't had the best luck with it. Does anyone what to help me properly learn the Dizi? I don't want to let this spiritual tool go unused."

"It's beautiful," Xichen said, "as I can play the Xiao, I can help teach you, as it is very similar. May Wangji can help you as well. Does the Dizi have a name?"

"My father never named it as he got it just before he died, according to Jiang Fengmian, anyway...but I named it Chenqing," Wuxian said, "I don't know how he got my father's Dizi and my mother's sword. A part of me wonders if he was there when they died or he found their bodies. I just wish I knew why he had them."

"We will help you look into it," Lan Lijun said.
