Lan Wangji was told that Wei Wuxian passed out due to exhaustion and stress. Lan Wangji was unconscious for a couple weeks and he could only image the amount of heartache Wuxian was going through. That one moment where Wuxian took a sword for him before, it drove Wangji crazy and hoped he would make it through it. Wangji was poisoned in his own home and Wei Wuxian was right there beside him. Before he passed out he had a vague memory of seeing tears in Wuxian's eyes and seeing so much worry. He didn't want that feeling to ever return again.

He sat there beside Wuxian. Wuxian was in a bed and unconscious. Wangji was given a medicine that Wuxian needed to take in order to keep himself healthy. Having tried to just feed it to him, Wuxian wouldn't take it. Of course he couldn't as he was unconscious. So Wangji took the medicine to his own mouth and carefully fed it Wuxian. It was the only way it succeeded. Wangji's mind was all over the place. Wangji may be free from the poison now, but he still has to rest a bit more. He had to meditate three to four times a day as the poison had affected his spiritual energy a little bit.

"Da-Ba?" A little voice said from behind Wangji. Lan Wangji turned to see his little son standing at the door. He held onto a small blanket that Baoshan had made for him and he became very attached to it. He likes to carry it around the house when he is home. Wangji cooed at his son and held out his arms. A'Yuan then crawled up on his lap.

"He is sick," Wangji said, "he will be better soon. I promise."

"Miss Da-Ba," A'Yuan said.

Wangji hugged him gently, "I am here. I won't go anywhere," he said and placed a kiss on A'Yuan's forehead.

"Can stay?" A'Yuan asked.

"Of course," Wangji said, "your baba could use the company."

A'Yuan moved to lay down beside Wuxian. He cuddled up to him with his head on Wuxian's shoulder. Wangji started humming and it seemed to have soothed A'Yuan to sleep. Now that A'Yuan was resting, Wangji stepped out for a moment. He went outside and looked out at the lake nearby.

"I have news," Baoshan said walking up to him.

Wangji looked at her, "Mn."

"Your uncle and brother interrogated a lot of your sect's staff to find out what happened. A couple of them witnessed someone they thought was a new member. They described him as, a young man with a childish charm, looking nothing more than a boy. His canine teeth show when he smiles, and, with bright eyes, a high nose bridge, a radiant smile, and thin lips that have a soft red hue, and his eyes are filled with casual contempt. One noticed that one of his hands had a glove only to realize he was missing a finger," Baoshan explained.

Lan Wangji grew more angry, "Xue Yang," he said, "he was probably hired by Meng Yao. Xue Yang has been causing trouble for one of your past disciples, Xiao Xingchen."

Baoshan's eyes grew wide, "you saw him?" She asked, "how is he?"

"He was healthy and had a companion, Song Lan," Wangji said, "Back when Sizhui came from the future, he told me that Xiao Xingchen's story was quite heartbreaking in the alternative timeline."

"What did he say?" Baoshan asked.

"His companion's previous sect was attacked by Xue Yang and he made it seem like Xiao Xingchen was the cause. Song Lan lost his eyesight due to a poison Xue Yang had. Xiao Xingchen brought him to you and he gave up his eyes for the man. Later Xue Yang found Xiao Xingchen and as he was blind, Xue Yang could get away with some things. Over time, many other things began to happen and out of turmoil, Xiao Xingchen ended his own life," Wangji explained.

"I will not let that happen to him again," Baoshan said, "I am going to see if I can find him."

Wangji nodded, "Xue Yang is trouble. He is supposed to be dead but he must have escaped from his dungeon cell before that happened. He was locked up at Qinghe Nie, but during the war with Wen Ruohan, there were ambushes on multiple sects. Xue Yang must have taken that opportunity to escape."

"Your uncle has increased security and even had a lockdown within Cloud Recesses. He called upon every member and did a head count. Xue Yang wasn't to be found. They did weed out some of Jin Guangshan's assassins though," Baoshan explained.

Wangji nodded, "I'm sure there will also be more training," he said.

"Yes," Baoshan said and looked back towards Wangji's house, "how is he?"

"Still unconscious but he isn't alone," Wangji said, "A'Yuan is laying with him."

Baoshan smiled, "he is a sweet boy," she said. All Wangji did was nod, "Well, aside from that news, I came to check on your progress." Wangji lifted his arm so she can check his vitals, "your spiritual energy is slowly returning to normal. A couple more days and you should be back to normal. Have you meditated?"

"This morning and then about an hour ago," he answered.

"Good, keep up the good work," she said, "did A'Ying take his medicine better today?"

"He did," Wangji told her.

"Good," she said, "now, go back to your family."

Wangji smiled and nodded. He then went back inside and laid down with his son and Wuxian. As he laid there, his anger grew stronger towards Madam Yu. He wanted her found soon and he wanted her dead. She has caused Wangji's family so much pain and suffering that all Wangji wants is for some peace. He wants to be able to go to Cloud Recesses with his husband and son as often as they pleased. They can't if they were constantly being watched and targeted.
