"Yong babae kanina, she's Angelica." Biglang imik niya. "Ex-girlfriend ko."
Bahagya akong napangiti sa narinig. He's amusing. I mean, he's voluntarily opening up something about his past. I didn't have to ask.
"Pang-ilan?" Biro ko.
"Siya lang, Iz." Confident niyang sagot.
"How was it? The relationship. ." I pry.
"Well, It doesn't ended well. As much as I want to sugarcoat it to give you an impressive past relationship history, It doesn't matched the real story." He answered, honestly. "After 2 years, it ended."
"Oh, that's sad." I commented, swallowing a spoonful of ice cream.
"You should be glad that she broke my heart because look, now It's yours." He winked. "And don't guilty about it because I'm actually a bit pleased that your thing with your little ex boyfriend ended. Glad he let you go because it lead me to you."
I refused to be wooed with his smooth sweet words and suppress my smile.
"I see you're the type that finds joy in other people's misfortune." I answered, challenging him.
He shrugged, facing me completely and leaned closer only leaving a few inches of dangerous distance between our faces. "Well, I like you. You can't blame me."
I rolled my eyes and pushes his head away.
"Infairness, ang ganda niya." Tango-tango ko habang sinusundan ng tingin 'yong babae.
"Lalo ka na." Maangas nitong sagot.
Smooth.
"Di ba?!" Pagyayabang ko at saka sabay kaming natawa.
"Sobra." Tango niya. He then stare at me and raised a brow, crossing his arms. "So, tell me—who set the bar before I came along? I'm curious about the story behind your last partner-in-crime?"
"You know they say curiosity kills the cat. You sure your curiosity wouldn't be followed by jealousy? We're 3 hours drive from home, I don't want to commute my way back home." I smirked, cockily then ignored him as if reminiscing. Just wanted to tease him a little and guess it's working.
"Oh, c'mon! I'm sure your ex isn't as awesome as me. Don't be too confident about him. Now, I'm really curious, what kind of guys have caught your eye in the past?" He asked, more eager and focus. "Should I be worried? What's the competition like? Hopefully, I'm doing okay."
Ibinaba ko ang kinakain at stares at him from head to toe then back to his face. I shrugged and sighed, unsatisfied. He scoff in disbelief and I have to drink to hide my devilish smile from him. I cleared my throat to suppressed my laugh when he put that grimace on.
"Well, I only have eyes for good-looking men. The ones with all kind of good and uniqueness." I answered, looking away. "You're the complete opposite."
Well yeah, because he's the only best boy of them all.
"So, who's the guy I needed to thank for being your ex?" He asked, sourly.
Now, he's pissed. Time to give him some treaty.
"No one. I'm still waiting for the right person to make an ex out of me." I said confidently and then playfully tapped his shoulder. "No ex here, so you might have to work harder to earn that title."
He smirked cockily. His grimace was long gone and now grinning sheepishly.
"You wish. The only way that you could have me as your ex-boyfriend is when we're married." He winked.
