15~ "What about a kiss?"

Mayuri's POV

"Is she inside with you?" I got goosebumps all over my body and we looked at each other. Not knowing what to do!

"No maasa, she is not with me!" He exclaimed.

"Oh ok! Please come faster, I have sent some soldiers to find her" Maasa said, and by her voice, I can recognize that she was afraid.

"Jii" He gulped and looked at me.

"I think you should go in our tent," He said.

My cheeks and ears heated up listening to that word 'our'. I showed no expression and asked.

"But how? Everybody is outside" I whispered.

He looked down deeply thinking about how to get ourselves out of this situation.

"Wait, let me take a real quick bath," He said and sat on the mat.

"In this situation, you have to take a bath? " I asked in disbelief. He ignored my question and sat down, started washing himself. I raked my eyes, facing in the opposite direction.

He took a real quick bath and wore the clothes.

He held my hand making me turn around, we looked at each other eyes.

His eyes were so mesmerizing, he brought his lips closer to mine, I gulped, our breaths were getting mixed. It felt so hot.

"You were looking for me and forgot the path" he whispered on my lips.

"Hnn?" My whole focus was on his lips.

He held my hand and peeked outside checking whether there was someone outside or not. We moved outward.

"Wait a minute" I stopped him and pulled the veil down.

He held my hand and we walked towards the tents. All the people were tensed, I gulped by looking at them.

"You created chaos, didn't you?" Prince whispered in my ears. I looked at him with fear.

"Mayuri!" Maasa yelled. She rushed towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Mayuri where were you, we all got so tensed" she cried.

I felt something painful in my heart seeing her like this. I didn't want them to be worried.

"Maasa, I was just..." I looked at the Prince who was standing expressionless behind me.

"Maasa she was just looking for me and forgot the direction," he said seriously and looked down.

"You were looking for him? You can just ask me I would have told you" she asked breaking the hug.

"I- I didn't want to disturb you," I said and gulped in fear. I hope she doesn't understand my expression or what I was thinking in my mind.

"Now, please don't go anywhere without telling me or Shantanu. This is the first and last time I'm forgiving you, it should not happen again" she said strictly and I nodded quickly.

"Good, now come and have breakfast," She said and held my arms, I looked behind at the prince, he was standing there with no expressions and hands behind.

I sat with all the royal queens and princesses to have breakfast. We all enjoyed and had a lot of talks.

After having breakfast, we all sat in a palanquin and moved toward the direction of Jaipur.

The morning becomes afternoon and the afternoon becomes night, still, the empire was six to seven kilometers away. I got so tired of sitting in a palanquin. We had our dinner and traveled all night. I started having severe pain in my neck and back because of the continuous traveling. I was thirsty too but can't stop the whole convey just for that.

I opened my eyes when I heard someone calling me, "Mayuri! Mayuri! We reached!"

I sat immediately, "Really?!"

"Yes, come fast everyone is waiting to see the bride!" Sudha said and I came out of the palanquin.

I fixed myself quickly and pulled the long veil to hide my face. My mother-in-law came near me and said to go and stand with the prince. I obeyed her and stand beside him. Many people were watching us, they were whispering, giggling, and showering flowers at us.
I walked with him towards the main entrance of the empire.
His sister was standing for our welcome. She started doing our pooja and put tilak on his forehead and blessed me with love and happiness.

She told me to kick the Kalash (pot) full of rice grains, I gently touched it with my left foot, and the grains in it were scattered. This ritual symbolizes that the bride is bringing wealth and prosperity inside the house.

Then she told me to step my feet on an alta plate or can say a red dye plate. I stepped in it and then put out my feet stepping inside the empire, I walked leaving my red imprints on the white cloth. Prince was following me from behind. And then she again made me put my hands in the dye to leave the imprints of my palm on white cloth. It means that the new bride is coming as the Laxmi (goddess) inside the house.

"The ritual is done, let the bride rest, and then we will have much dikhayi rasam," Maasa said.

'Oh god! I'm so tired! Can't we have the other rituals tomorrow?!'

"Yes, come Mayuri let me show you your chamber" I nodded and moved with Jijisa (sister-in-law) towards the chamber.

"This is your chamber, Mayuri, I hope you like it," She said and I nodded looking at the beauty of the chamber.

"You take rest, I have to take care of the preparation" I nodded and she went out of the chamber.

I removed my veil and lay down on the bed. 'Oh gosh! I just want to sleep right now! My neck and back are paining... Urghhhh!'

I tried to massage my neck with my hand but got tired soon as no energy was left inside me. I don't know when my eyes closed and I went into a deep sleep.

I got up when I felt someone massaging my neck. It is such a relief! I started ushering that person in my sleepy voice.

"Yes, at the left side... Uhh good"

"Now, right side, no! Not there, yes there... Nice"

"Now do it a little bit roughly"

"Urgh! Not that much... A little bit softy"

"Yeah... Just like that, I like it"

After a few good minutes, I turn around as I was laying on my stomach and smiled widely.

"You are good at massaging! You need a reward! Ask whatever you want" I exclaimed feeling relaxed. My eyes were still closed.

"What about a kiss?" I recognized who it was and opened my eyes sitting quickly.
